Victor Lindelof completed his transfer to Manchester United this afternoon after passing his medical at Carrington.

The 22-year-old, known as ‘The Iceman’, has revealed how happy he is to have joined the club and is looking forward to helping the club add to the trophy cabinet.

I am thrilled to be joining Manchester United. I have enjoyed my time at Benfica enormously and I have learned a lot there. But I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier League at Old Trafford and for Jose Mourinho. I’m keen to get started and make my contribution to the team’s efforts to win more trophies.

Lindelof has been linked with United for some time, with rumours suggesting he was going to sign in January, with Jose Mourinho clearly identifying him as a target early on. The defender has discussed the dealings he’s had with the manager so far.

I’m very, very happy to be here at this great club so I couldn’t be happier. It feels great to know the coach wants you to finally be here. It makes me very happy. I’ve spoken to him. It was a good chat. It’s very important for me to hear what he has to say. He’s a great coach and for me to be able to work with him is a great opportunity for me.
