Me thinks that there will be plenty of rumours of bids coming out of OT until Eddy has sold all the season tickets and then it will be " we tried but there was no value in the market"

So far I have been totally unimpressed by Eddy Woodenhead rushing home early to conduct urgent transfer business. God help us if he was not in a hurry, reckon it would then take him a couple of years.

Bloody banker, shortly after he rushed back there were more sponsor agreements rolled out and still nothing on a decent 1 or 2 CMs that we so urgently need. know the real reason he came home - share price

Well who really cares about names, or people's psychology, it's a blog, it's the comments that matter, a bit of banter, a bit of debate. A good comment is a good comment.

Speaking of which Moyes saying we will sign players before end of window was a good comment. Has Woody come out of hiding yet?

@ RedHarry4Life - Woodward is not a sporty guy. He is a talented guy at finance and marketing. The footie side of it is not his passion. Gill loved it. Kenyon saw it as a business. Woodward sees it as a prestige position and an extension of his duties. At 40 he is super young for the role. I am sure his view is to take it seriously and professionally but he will focus on what he knows and what he knows is business and marketing. That will colour how he views everything else. But I expect he will also try to show footie credentials by being seen as backing the manager and trying for him. How hard and with what agenda, who knows.

Based on todays run out:

RVP
Chicharito
Welbeck
Henriquez

Hmmmm, maybe it's not just RVP that Mr. Ambition is worried about taking away his minutes.
I'm not suggesting they would all play before him, but that's an impressive lot looking for minutes.

Apparently Rooney is now claiming SAF karate chopped him in the shoulder while claiming to be undergoing a hip operation. Moyes said he cannot comment, it was between the two gentlemen. Come on Moyes, give us a quote that sears the brain - "I will not sell a virus to that mob"....and the like.

Another day, another midfielder linked in the merry go round, just so the newspapers can write something about us. Fellaini now, whom was the most realistic target to begin with. Not surprised if it comes through, although would have prefered a more technical player, but oh well.

On a side note, looks like even Moyes is getting fed up with Rooney now, I can't see how he can stay without affecting the mood of the camp.

Jose has pissed off Mata, is obsessed and jealous of Ronaldo who he keeps publicly attacking and now might sell Chelsea favourite side show Bob. He has also failed to get his top 2 striker targets and is desperately trying to get a declining fat boy from a rival. On teh plus side he has 500 MF and no good strikers.

Oh yes, and Maureen he changed his name to the Happy One, Mr Potato Head was unavailable but has been reserved.

What else....hmmmm....well he's bought eh no one. Sold no one. Got rid of some promising Chelsea youth players. Tried to wind up Moyes. Talked loads about United. Thinks Roo is worth less than Carroll.. No, nothing else really. Expect him to be fired shortly after the Community Shield when Roman loses it.

"a declining fat boy" deary me. Jose might be a cunt but he does know how to spend the riches given to him, I don't think you have the foresight to claim anyone is declining. He had a dip in standard and has always bounced back the next season, that does not constitute "declining" this is getting very boring now, the repititive stuff. united won't sell to a major rival anyway, so this can rumble on until a bidder from outside the PL comes in or he leaves after his 2years for free.

I'm new here, been a lurker for a while but my word, some of yall who claim to be fans are in complete denial. The comments on here about PRE-SEASON games are ridiculous.

Anyway, I always thought Fellani would have been good for us and I'll be content if we get him.

Lots of people here shitting on Moyes and the other new guy, but lets not forget that it was Fergie that refused to bolster the damn midfield for about 5 years running. Lot's of blame rests on him imo. Patience is a virtue, give Moyes a chance. (With that said I don't see us winning all our first 5 games, this place will be interesting the next 6 weeks or so).

Not a great game to be honest. One bright spot was Henriquez, Nani and Bebe. Defence was OK. Looked like we were not quite at the races but then United always start slow and they have flown a hell of a lot. We may not be able to afford to start slow this season with the games we got.

Yes!!!! Rooney needs to go now!!!! Sick of hearing about him every bloody day overshadowing every match like some kind of giant hot air balloon :(! But where???? no bloody Club we would sell to bid for him and United will not sell to Chelsea, if we do then we have become a commercial club not a football club. We don't need the money, United don't sell to rivals. Period. Let him rot in the reserves. Flog him abroad in Jan. If he wants world cup he'll go.

Forget Ronnie and Cesc. Looking forward to Fellani arriving.

Many are denial if they think rooney won't be a threat to united at chelsea. They have creative players everywhere, rooney is experienced and proven, he'll be their final piece of the jigsaw and could spur them on, he's definitely a threat to united's aspirations, especially now mourinho is there. Rooney is not irreplaceable and united will move on when he leaves, the club has done so and will hopefully continue but the club has to be sensible, it has to gradually mould a different system of play as regardless of some dismissing rooney's ability, he's been amongst the key attacking components of the team, his contributions back that. Welbeck, hernandez, henriquez and hopefully will keane recovers are high potential, they could develop into main players in time but it's step by step. I don't count van persie as although he's looking sharp these days, his form isn't sustainable.

I think when rooney leaves, perhaps it will open the door for many younger players to take responsibility, it will be a positive but selling to chelsea right now at whatever price is a no no.

@ Mav - um, sorry what is SAF to blame for? How many titles and cups did we win in the last 5 years with the damn midfield? Do you recall by any chance? Do you recall also by any chance how many points United won the league by last year? With the damn midfield? The one that youth like Cleverly were given the chance to stake a place in.

Also, do you remember any bids for MF in the last 5 years. Have a think.

My point is everyone is complaining about the midfield being sub par or am I mistaken? If that is the case dont blame Moyes. Also all those bids you mentioned in the past an nothing came of it, Moyes is trying and it seems to be the same old story.

My point is do not shit on Moyes and make it seem like he is flopping all over the darn place.

@ samuel - Totally agree mate. No way should we sell to Chelsea. I take @ Goat's point that they may strengthen anyway with someone else but no way should be sell to a rival. It's late in the day, let Chelsea scrape around for someone. Lukaku looks a player and will probably do a decent job for them anyway. Will be interested to see how Torres does under Maureen.

Apparently we're in for Fellaini? will not be believing this story but should it be true, I would more than welcome Fellaini here. Fellaini is better than nothing and Fellaini is better than pretty much every midfield player at this club save for one or two.

@ Mav - Welcome to the site. My point is not to shit on SAF and his legacy. He left a Championship winning team. He bought great young players through. He bought Zaha. He promoted Januzaj. He put it on a plate for Moyes. Moyes inherits a top top team.

Now, as the for the MF, most people will say Cleverly and Ando have not stepped up enough and we need a top player. Fletch is not well. Scholes retired. Carrick is now older than he was and will need cover this year or next. United give youth a chance. Some people will say Ando and Cleverly had their chance and they have not taken in / too injury prone / not enough quality / not ready.

If you noticed. SAF did buy a MF player. His name is Kagwa. He is an attacking central MF player and was Germany's top player.

Personally I would be happy with a player like Fellani to cover for Carrick and provide some experience and quality while our youth develop. I want to see players like Januzaj get a chance in MF. I would like to see what Kagwa can do in MF.

Truth

Honestly You do make some decent points but that wont change the fact the you are WUM. Tell me how have chelsea performed in Transfer Market. They have failed to sign any good Player. Its easy to say they will win the league but they have hardly made any significant change from last season sqaud. We may not have had the greatest pre season tours but it has not been bad. Firstly we have played some pretty exciting football and Moyes is willing to give the youngsters chance to play. Secondly Pre season results hardly matter. Its all about fitness, Knowing about team mates and about making money. It has never been about winning. Qinning pre season games wont guarantee you anything. Liverpool always have good pre season but that doesnt make them perform better in the league.

As far as our transfer business goes , yes I am disappointed. But Atleast it is sure that we have money to spend. We have 35 millions to spend. I will be happy with Fellaini. He is a strong lad and caused a lot of problems to top team last season including our midfield. And moreover moyes knows Fellainis strength and weakness. He will utilise Fellaini Properly. He is 25 so he has a good future ahead of him. I say sign him. We can also put cheeky bid for Gustavo. He is a strong midfielder. And Bayern have loads of midfielder. Lets buy him and he will cost us cheap.

I dont know what to think about rooney situation. I have always defended rooney and want him to stay but now my opinion is changing. Moyes said correctly "You don’t need to convince anybody to play for Manchester United.” Now this says all. I wont mind rooney leaving but if he does leave let us demand some high money. Nothing less than 40 millions. I wont mind if we bid for Mata in that course. Mata is clearly not happy at chelsea with Jose in charge. Let us try our luck there. I know We have Kagawa but Nothing bad in adding another star player in Mata.

So far moyes has done ok. Give him time. I dont want a chelsea situation to happen here. Changing ,managers every season wont help us anyone. Have Faith.

Fellani - who by the way was not looking to good in pre-season but it's pre-season, Valencia players easily by-passed him in MF. His stats compared to Cleverly:

Tackle success: C- 78%; F- 73%
Minutes/tackle - C - 40; F - 34
Ground 50-50 win - C- 56%; F- 44%
Ariel 50-50 win - C- 33%; F- 60%
Minutes per error - C-1456; F- 928
Minutes per interception - C -91; F-71
Minutes per possession loss - C- 104; F-34
Minutes per possession win - C -17; F- 14
Pass success rate - C- 88%; F- 78%
Total passes per match - C - 68; F - 54
Shot Accuracy - C - 36%; F- 54%
Minutes per shot - C - 104; F - 43
Minutes per goal - C- 728; F - 253
Cross accuracy - C -15%; F- 11%

Fellani is not the Messiah, I see him as a squad player who could step up if he has quality players around him but anyone counting on him to retain possession stats say otherwise. Break up play, ariel presence in MF - yes. A player like Fabregas gives us the possession, crossing and passing stats that are at a different level to both Cleverly and Fellani. But Fellani can be a useful squad player but no one should be under illusions that this will be an easy or natural step up for him and that we will stop having a sieve MF. If anyone fixes MF possession issues it will be Carrick and Kagwa combining with other players.

Yeah great game officials though were pants great. movement from herinquez.
Positives.
Bebe ha dear me gosh put some brains on that kid he's a monster his low IQ let him down, down, down though.
If having him in (basic instructions) of a footballer could help so be it as long as he end up having a career here.

Nani was his usual self, footballers don't just chance overnight specially when you consider he was out on holis all summer just ignorance from fans
I'm sure the same fans who are singing his praise are the ones who will go all out bashing once he fail to score or anything.
One thing is for sure though, he's not inconsistent however in some games defenders manages to limit his effectiveness but he still manages to create an assist or score himself at end.

And maureen has the PL experience so they are very strong contenders.. What would fellaini cost us btw? He is decent but not worth something more than 20mn..

Fellani reported cost £23 mn. So more than Chelsea's first bid for Rooney, Lol!

Our attack has more goals in it than Chelseas:-

Chelsea scorers: Lukaku, Torres, Ba, Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Lampard

United scorers: RVP, Pea, Kagwa, Nani, Welbeck err, Rooney? Possibly Zaha, Young. Fellani if he comes would help add goal threat from MF. None of Carrick, Ando or Cleverly score much. He could add 10 or so goals a season.

I think more defenders would rather face Lukaku, Mata, Hazard than RVP, Kagwa, Hernandez/Nani.

Both teams have goal scorers all over the pitch. Our strikers are better. Their MF scores more.

Awesome, our red ManU ass is gonna get spanked, thanks to dithering Moyes. This indecisive, incompetent individual has made matters worse by his screwed decision making and PR handling.

No MF signed, when a logical person would have signed a decent player to try and fix the gaping hole that our midfield is. This season fixture is the toughest start for us and it would have made sense to buy someone quick so that other players could have gelled. Instead this stupid fuck signs a left-back, where already 3(evra, buttner, fabio) are available.

ManU dealings in market have become a travesty and has brought tarnish in a way, that everyone correctly assumes that the club can no longer attract top-class players. To top it all, now we may be losing Rooney too.

Mosey fucker takes a vacation to slack off when he should have begun working his ass off. Now, he does not know who plays where and what is the lineup, formation to be played.

Hats off dumb dithering ass.....

Btw, has anyone heard mourinhos words which eventually led to the burst up with his country's man...
It goes like this:
"I trained the best ronaldo"

And ronnie response: “Some things in life are not worth commenting on and this is one more for obvious reasons,”

My opinion on this is that mou was singing praise for the portuguese Ronaldo rating him as being better than the brazialian one which was taken out of context by the media and whom it concerned and twisted to look as if mou was down grading the current one which is led by carlitos ancelotti.

Haha

Yea Chelsea have a good midfield goal threat.. rooney should get us 35mil by the current market stats if sold..
@NBI And I don't think Kagawa has the ball retention ability you are saying he was crowded out or bullied away many times last season.. He has the technique but not very effective when played deeper we saw that, but play him behind a striker and he will show you his magic touches and flicks.. Very attack minded nimble footed player but doesn't give a defensive bite to the midfield which who his where we are lacking

@ spidey - part of the problem when Kagwa played MF is that there were no players near him. In attack of as a no 10, he was surrounded by players like RVP etc who he could short pass too. When Kagwa played MF, Carrick was too far back protecting the back 4 to link effectively. Given time and starting regularly they can work on that.

Kagwa may work best in a MF 3 but if you look at how he played for Bayern he is a CMF. For United he was played out left when in MF. When he was played behind the striker he was central. So we have not really seen him in CMF. And pairings take a little time to develop. Not sure if him and Carrick are the best fit. Kagwa Carrick Fabregas would offer something different.
