I'd like to see Morrison and Cole given a run out. It's been a long time coming and Ravel is raring to go.

From what I managed to see, Fred summed up Fryers quite well. Of course the only question is if he's ready for tougher tests than Aldershot and Leeds.

I love putting these 2 teams in the same category. :P

Fred - thanks buddy, another good competition will give evra something to think about, he is feeling far too comfortable and he's gotta know that if you don't perform then you'll be on the bench.

LOL on BBC....I think there is something wrong with the spelling of Aldershot maybe??

2133: Aldershit threaten again and it's that man Gutteridge who has a free-kick from the edge of the area saved by Manchester United keeper Ben Amos. They're doing their best to take at least one fond memory away from this game.

@Samuel

Morrison - assured cameo, looked a threat in attack. Very promising.
Pogba - steady and unspectacular, as against Leeds. Had one "sighter" that flew a couple of yards over.
Fabio - fine performance in attack and defence. Would like to see him back at RB in the league now.
Keane - No problems
Jones - solid and unspectacular
Amos - impressive in all aspects of his play

Berba and Park to start against Everton

good game . and good to see Berba Vidic and owen complete 90 mins. Berbatov looked good and his use of the ball should be a lesson to the entire squad really. He follows the swing of play anticipates the space in and around never needs the extra touch.

Costas

You're not too particularly impressed by the fitness and medical staff we've got. what'd do you think of the insistence of the team to play at full tilt or tend to go into over drive once we get into attacking positions on the players fitness. We're asking lot of the team the way w're set up to defend. Often we have a player sprinting down the other end of the pitch with acres of space , running towards our goal. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I've said and thought some surprising things this year but going forward i'd say Berbatov and Carrick should be starters - yes.arguable the two "slowest" players as some might think. But i think its time we "ran" less and "played" the ball bit more

I have to say this. Berba's situation is complicated, but Park imo should be starting more games. It doesn't help Nani and Young when they are undropable for the big games.

Berba's behaviour in the pitch is quite.. odd. yes he works out his ass to show he deserves more game time, especially PL time. but the way he expects support from weird areas is, well, weird.

@slim

Interesting point. I won't disagree. I don't believe that our fitness levels are alarming or anything, but like you said, this cavalier approach to the games can wear down even the fittest lads. And Evra imo is one of them. He's still incredibly fit, but how many runs up and down the pitch can you make? It has to take a toll. Fergie clearly wanted to up the tempo this year thinking that we will tear teams apart ala Barcelona. And it has worked for us goal scoring wise. 41 goals in 15 games is great. but you definitely need ball retainers and players that dictate the tempo. It's like a car speeding without breaks. At some point you are going to crush.

Berba,Park,Carrick,Tony V should all be getting more games and there shouldn't be players who are undropable otherwise there's a problem with the set up

Hah ha! finally somebody makes the point. I'm not worried about their fitness per se. where i'm coming from is the reward to the team. There seems to be a mismatch. I'll explain.

I see nothing wrong in the players bombing forward, in fact its the way the game has evolved over time. The issue i have with United doing tit these days is every one expect the marauding player to be the one responsible for covering his space,

We don't cover each other well enough, if we did we' d see less of players sprinting back like mad men in an effort to get the ball back. You mentioned Barcelona. Yes they do it and they do it very well. They defend as a team. No matter if the Full back finds himself in the striker position, the striker fills up the vacant spot or a winger in midfield and striker moves to cover the flank.

Now we've hunted down the ball . Kudos. But you need to move it quick or keep it. Hustling the ball down and not having the presence and ability to make a decision - good one will most of the time end up backfiring. It happened on sunday.

United can play any damn formation they want, apply any tactic but we've got to play the game a whole lot more than we have been lately. And that's why i suggest Carrick and Berbatov should be looked on as starters.
They're both senior experienced player and their ball playing abilities could do wonders to a middle of the park and at the back. I get the feeling Berbatov enjoys playing with the young kids , a player like him and what he does puts a spring in their step. I'd like to see Tom C and Carrick play together, i'd plunk another body in there to make it a 3 man midfield- Park maybe or even Pogba - i can dream can't i :-)
We'll see how things unfold

hardly. In fact heshould be demanding it. when the ball is played and he or owen has to bust a got to get to it. the least they can do is support the play when the ball is moving forward

Oh, I forgot Ashley Young in my squad for Everton. That's a bit harsh on the lad. He has a good record against Everton too. Back to the drawing board...

i will be hell suprised if berba doesnt start at goodison park..

it was evident that snubbing has affected his temperment, you could see that whenver a misplaced or switched off player in counter attack, berba was furious...

as someone pointed out, he can be worth a try in midfield along with tom..

agreed he doesnt tackle, but he HOLDS THE BALL AND BRINGS OTHERS INTO PLAY

i mean he gets upset easily when there's no one to pass to. couldn't blame him really, but his vision might be above others when he's in a tight position. like when he was close to the box, expecting tony v to make a run across infront him, when there ain't much space to run and control the ball. just my point of view. obviously he's a great player.

dannysoya @ 20:34: "He isn’t even playing with first teamers"

Vidic ? Phil Jones ? Fabio ? ThreeLungPark ? Antonio Valencia ? LittleMikey ? what are these guys - chopped liver ?

TheLads are playing this game against a mediocre team in the third or fourth division.

They looked more-than-OK - but consider the level of competition.

ps is Tom Cleverley "chopped liver", too ?

Denton ... yes, but you could say that about all our players today. so i guess theres no point making any comments at all? in the end, they can only play whats in front of them.

Yep, that's true.

NOT being a professional talent-evaluator/scout, it's hard to know what to make when "whats in front of them" is so far below the level of competition that UTD players are expected to perform against.

BUT, being an amateur know-it-all, I disagree and voice my opinions, nonetheless.

Last week's debacle should signal an end to shoe-ins and undroppables. And at the highest level rush and shoot isn't enough - we need players who can keep possession of the ball, maintain positional discipline and find others in the same shirt. Carrick, Park,TC and Berba should start against Everton

Last week's debacle should signal an end to shoe-ins and undroppables. Evans took the rap, quite unfairly in my book as the issues were deeper than his sending off. Huff and puff, rush and shoot just wont cut it against top quality well drilled opposition. We need to turn to players who can keep possession of the ball, find someone in the same shirt without drama, and maintain their concentration and positional discipline. Park, Carrick, Vida, TC and Berba should start against Everton.
