We MUST buy atleast ONE worldclass central midfielder in jan who can improve our midfield straight away!!...may be Gundagon or someone in his ilk, money talks and Jan is the time for Glazers to unleash there milked money from us and Moyes to not to dither!!..Just checked the table and still we are lurking in 6th after 12 games level on points with Everton and 1 point ahead of Spurs...look above the table it is very tight too with Le Arse bottlers 7 points ahead...I don't what will happen with FA new revision system re Rooney but spurs would be waiting for us like a wounded beast, in football things change pretty quick...but win next 2 matches it can again turn in our favour...ONE QUALITY CENTRAL MIDFIELDER IN JAN IS A MUST, MUST, MUST!!..dither in jan and it WILL prove costly in may month...keep other positions on hold but buy 1 worldclass CM in jan...Throw the cash out there in jan.

Newsflash for you mate, World class players play for world class clubs and those clubs do not sell their best players in jan, No world class players will be coming in jan, more likely will be young players with potential, potential dont win titles Im afraid!

Evra is always piss poor when he captains the team. Him and Evans are both to blame for goals that could have been easily avoided.

Also, how the ref allows that free kick after the punch is beyond me.

Ridiculously bad performance. I've said it before and I'll say it again - most of the players in our squad are mediocre. The only reason we won the league last season was because the other teams fucked up more than we did.

The only good defenders we have are Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael and Jones. Evans and Smalling are still pretty inconsistent. And although the goal wasn't entirely Evra's fault, the amount and seriousness of the goals we have conceded because of Evra is appalling. No amount of badge-kissing is going to solve that. I don't care how much you rave about your love for the club in the press and social media but making such mistakes at this age is ridiculous. He tries something stupid and beyond his ability too many times and at key moments which is really frustrating. Atleast he scored a goal today.

The midfield is a joke without Carrick. Carrick and Nani are the only quality players we have got there.

Today, Welbeck didn't get much time but anyway, he's just not good enough.

Just look at the GD. We are sixth only because of RVP and Rooney. We won't stand a chance against City, forget Bayern, Barca, Madrid. And honestly, the gulf in quality has been there for the past couple of seasons. How Fergie got the maximum out of this team, only he knows.

More than the mediocrity, it's the attitude that has crept in in the team I feel. Most of them need reminding that they are playing for Manchester United. If only we showed heart like we did against Arsenal in every game...

@Tommy...mate, you can rest assured some top teams are going to Europa from CL group stage and they DO have worldclass midfielders atleast better than what we have got atm..so with league our main objective this season we should be able to get one unless we dither to compromise on inflated price..so no need to act as if sky is falling all of a sudden..it was fucked up performance but result was luckily FAIR...don't forget it happens after lengthy int'l break esp when you have got your main player in defense, midfield and upfront are all injured!!..With those players today what more you expect with all those injuries to main players??..c'mn mate, had Rooney got sent off we would have done fuck all today!! Relish the draw mate!..my only moaning point is welbeck substititution instead of Nani and again fucking flat 4-4-2 when RVP wasn't there, but i don't know abt kagawa situation, of course!!..overall, i'm ok with new manager who i know well from everton but won't criticise him anymore personally this season...i'm looking forward to jan but you can't expect much from that midfield and blame players mate when we all know what they are capable of already, it was FAIR RESULT for us and not a good performance which is to do with our style and system of play with players we have got...may be time to Move on and look forward mate!!

@John

Disagree mate, clubs will NOT sell their best players in jan, the only players you get in jan are A. those at clubs in midtable in their league B.those not wanted at their clubs and C. players that not many people are aware of like Vidic when he came in! The only midfielder we are likely to bring in is Herrera in January!

You say we are missing our best defender, midfielder and forward, that may be correct but how many of our players that started the game would get in Cardiffs team? The answer is 11, every single player would get in their team so we should be good enough no matter who plays to beat Cardiff!! No excuses today awful performance!

Its going to be a long season,,,,,,very poor today.........lets hope RVP., carrick and Vida are back for tottenham. Fellaini and Cleverly where so poor today, all they did today is play sidewards and backwards. Fellaini looks so out of his depth, its embarrasing that we actually paid 27 million.

@Tommy...I think welbeck substitution was also more to do with Januzaj not being able to track back and we tried to hold on to 2-1...instead of Smalling, we could have played Valencia with Nani ahead of him in wing...I don't know about why kagawa didn't play but Kagawa behind Rooney were things we should have done imo...again its just my 2p as a supporter it is down to manager to do that and he might have better ideas behind his choice..yeah, those 11 would get into Cardiff team straighaway but hadn't city dropped points there??..It happens mate, Real madrid lost to teams in their league as well!!..but we should remember that this is after a run of good spell of ours, we are not invincibles and we have new manager whose style of play we all know...but he may adapt to new style with players in jan, we don't know..there are examples top transfers happen in jan even in our league mate unless we don't compromise re inflated price!!

@John

I would hardly call it a great run tho, Beating Stoke at home, Sunderland and Fulham away (Both in the relegation zone), drawing with saints at home and nicking a win against Arsenal after defending for most of the game is impressive, they should be standard wins, I said 7 points from out next 3 games would be good and we drew today so 2 wins against Spurs and Everton are a must!

@Tommy...It is transition tommy, keep faith!!..If something was to happen then it was AVB 2 of chelsea already...but now you can jump from terrace, Moyesy won't go anywhere this season and next even if he wins fuck all and misses top 4 this season..coz if we miss top 4 we will be having options of bring new or one more chance to who we have already who knows us better already, simple as that!!..if he wins 1 trophy and keeps us in top4 or just top4 this season then he will be here for next 3 seasons apart from this...on positive note, Don't forget we are still just 7 points behind Arsenal The Bottlers and January just nearby who knows we may win something and maintain top 4 or even better compete for title till the end or with a little luck we may retain it!!..today performance was bad mate but result was fair to us coz of it...we may win next 3 and things look as if we are world beaters again just like aft a week against arsenal but lose and we can moan always!!..it is a long season with Ups and downs mate..take till everton game as a phase and make judgment then!!..till then game by game, today was ok to me taking everything into consideration.

Wrong substitution,we keep wanting to get Giggs to make history while we lose what makes us Manutd,Winning and in winning playing good.
I honestly want to know what Nani,Anderson,Kagawa has done wrong not to get Playing time at united while Welbeck(Mr Selfish football)gets play time immediately he recovered from injury..As long as we see United as England's National team feeder team, then we should get ready to watch crap..absolute shit!
Till I die,it's still Manutd though.

The major problem for us today IMO was losing Vida, Carrick and RvP. Carrick in particular would have helped a lot in the middle in the second half when we, at times, just got overrun and ended up fouling repeatedly. And as for RvP... had he been given that chance Rooney had there's no way in hell he'd have tried to set welbeck up... but of course that's not exactly an argument because if RvP started everything would have happened differently today anyway, same goes for any change or even seemingly unsubstantial event.

One thing I completely agree with Moyes about is the ref really hurt us at the end by, as moyes said, "giving them two bites at the cherry" for their equalizer. The first free kick we'd have dealt with... but since one of their players slapped one of ours in the face... they got to take it again... I don't even know what to make of that. Of course, everybody will focus on Rooney instead, even though that incident wasn't nearly as bad as it looked, I've seen it before... remember Tevez kicking Carrick in the Manchester derby? No big deal made out of it but since its Wayne Rooney it'll be on the back page tomorrow.

After that today I'm just disappointed. That's the only word I can use to describe my feelings... because... considering we lost 4-1 to City, and lost 1-0 to Liverpool, and drew with Chelsea...... the fact is... if you take the 3 points we lost to west brom.... the 2 point we lost to southamptons late equalizer and the 2 points we lost today to Cardiff's late equalizer.... that's 7 points... that's the entire gap between us and Arsenal.

Shouldn't have dropped two points today... we were overrun at times in the middle but FFS, welbeck and rooney had chances AGAIN to wrap[ it up and make it official and they fucked it again. Same happened in the West Brom and Southampton game... and the shaktar game... it just sickens the fucking life out of me...

Wayne Rooney on Twitter.... said he just rewatched the game... made these four tweets..

"Just watched game back. I agree mine was bad tackle and ref dealt with it. And Martin Tyler didn't shut up about it all game."

"Then someone slaps someone in face and he doesn't speak a word about it. I like Martin but that's poor from him"

"Sourness the rules are u kick out u should be off. Souness medel gives left hook he's done his job. Haha brilliant"

"Sourness was sarcastic for everyone biting"

It's true. The fact is the ref saw the tackle from Rooney quite clearly and he figured it was a yellow. Like I said before the Manchester derby last season, Tevez kicked out at Michael Carrick too and nothing was done about it, it wasn't even a fucking footnote. But when its Rooney that's what you expect. Moyes was right in the interview... because Cardiff fouled a player.. because Medel smacked Fellaini in the face, they got a second chance at a free kick from a good position and converted it, if that was United it would be Sky Sports' headline now.

@JamieD...mate, saw those tweets of wayne myself but I think it was a red tbh..similar case was given a red to wayne against montenegro...we can take other similar circumstances to defend Rooney but for me the ref got it wrong if we just look at it black and white...but we are united supporters and we should defend our own player, fair enough, why not!?!...I think it is more to do with lack of uniformity in ref decision making as they are humans..but in this case the ref clearly saw it and as wayne tweeted may be to do with 'medels' and ref feared to make a huge call against a big name player so early in the game..when i look at it from neutral point of view, it was a clear red however we dress it up tbh...luckily for us not to be!!..you have some knowledge re FA new revision rule mate??..I mean whether they must be complained or reported by cardiff for that!!..and yeah that guy who slapped of cardiff should have been sent off too, but we can't cancel out or refer to hide any independent particular incidents imo.

@JamieD...as for moyes interview re Rooney incident, tbh i think he still has to improve on how to be diplomatic dealing with media (wolves)..I don't want to copy, paste it here but you just can look the way Mackay of cardiff and Moyes handle the interviewer...Mackay clearly did better by telling he have yet to check video replay, whereas moyes wasn't clever enough the way he address rooney incident...he will do better i have no doubt with days ahead re it but he can help himself by taking few tips from fergie till then now and then re dealing with such incidents.

Evra scored and he plays with his heart out.
I'm willing to cut him some slack for his defending.

We're just not that much better than too many teams.
One thing about Cleverley is that he recycles the ball quickly and efficiently.

John November 25, 2013
@JamieD...and other thing is media obviously targets and highlights the incident where relatively more famous player is involved so that they can keep themselves and viewers busy for abt a week atleast which is understandable...hence Medel happens to have escaped under the radar...both should have been sent off but the way media works and we are hated due to our consistent success in past, it is how it is. However, imo we can't put forward both incidents and say Rooney wasn't red..fact is, ref got it completely wrong in both incidents but for obvious reasons Rooney is the easy target. Also, the positioning of ref on both cases should be considered for making such decisions/mistakes/calls and becomes a talking point coz of it as well.

Donetsk 0 United 1

United 1 Saints 0

Cardiff 1 United 2

Giggs came on at all 3 of those situations, is it a coincidence that all 3 ended as draws?

John November 25, 2013
@Tommy...it is mate!..tbh I don't understand Giggsy criticism against Cardiff when he comes as a sub to play for 15 minutes..he has got that vision for a killer pass still with experiences he has..we should consider ourselves lucky to have veteran like him who is looking after his physical state so well for being able to put a shift for every now and then..It is all about how you use player like him and who is he surrounded by in the field..I believe he still can help us and play a part..ppl say he is blocking youngsters progress but playing 15 mins, a game after few weeks won't block anybodys progress..the thing is if we expect Giggsy of old to score like he did against Arsenal in fa cup and run around with showing unshaved chest hairs even in his 40s then we are fooling ourselves!!..bottomline is we need a good left back, couple of central midfielders in jan or till in summer..however Moyesy must ditch 4-4-2 asap and stick to attractive attacking play style instead of just to win next match philosophy...or else this transition is going to be fucking boring and dull as dish water.

No comment on the game, I'm still fucking heartbroken.

Just logged on to clear something up.

By this time there would normally have been about 400 comments, from at least 60 different commenters. Especially when we drop points! We are all quite aware of the new log in format, and that it is the likely reason behind the dearth of comments here.

Why the fuck is wayne's name being bandied about on the various threads since Trollgate? We all know that wayne is one of many long-term RoM regulars that DIDN'T go to another blog BECAUSE they don't do twitter or facebook. We going to lose many trolls, but we're also going to lose key, long term, high-value-input contributors. Lads that live and breath United.

Their absence will be sorely felt.

John - yeah, they are already missed. I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you, plenty of old dogs have no desire to learn new tricks. The world of the web is a tangled place indeed, especially to those with minimal exposure to it.

There's nothing sinister about their absence, it was always going to happen that way.

It was a dull performance from us. The problem I feel we are having is we have too many Hardworking players but we lack technical players. I feel Moyes prefers hardworking players, He drops Nani, Kagawa(Yeah he was injured but he still doesnt get picked regularly),Zaha,Rafael,Anderson. He prefers Smalling,Valencia,Cleverley,Welbeck . I feel there should be a balance of both. We need players who can keep hold of the ball rather than just shoot and attempt long passes. I hate that stuff.
Anyways I will find positive and say we are unbeaten for 10 games.

Roll on to Leverkusen

haha ball from our defend barely go through our midfield...mostly either by full back to winger or centre back straight to striker...midfields im not sure what they do except to pass the ball back to centre back or side ways to full back...and smalling passing i think the most poor passing in EPL...

Not a good performance from us today. We were missing some important players. Of the players we had on pitch only Rooney and januzaj are the creative ones. No one else provides any vision or assists and that was the reason why we couldn't create much from open play. Just 4 chances from open play compared to 11 from set pieces. I don't remember under sir Alex switching to a defensive formation to keep the lead against newly promoted opposition. Of course that was because we weren't keeping possession due to our midfield. Only 27% of our play happens through the middle whereas any big side plays more than 1/3rd of their game through the middle.

Was watching Bayern vs Dortmund yesterday and I couldn't help but notice the technical prowess of both of those teams. Their players were able to keep possession even with intense pressing from the other team. We are a !long way from doing that. Some of our players can't hold onto the ball under pressure.

Anyways let's hope for a better performance from us against Leverkusen as its a crucial game for us to qualify. We might have Jones and carrick back for this game. GGMU

I don't see anything wrong with the subs. Kagawa was out injured, Januzaj was clearly overwhelmed by the physical attention he got, and Giggs made 2 passes that sent Welbeck and Rooney clear but they messed up.

Hope Jones can be back for Leverkusen, but more importantly, against Spurs. If Cleverley's main factor in being in the team is his energy to cover grounds, Jones can do much better

Meen that last equalizer by Cardiff was too painful. With all due to the boy Clevs he really aint good enough at the moment, I thought Fellaini was decent and if cleverly was even a little better we could have a decent midfield.
Januzaj must have had i worst game for the first team and if it was Nani who did some of that he would dead and buried by the Fans.
Smalling he is a good Center half but full back! Really! why not play Fabio or even AV there.

Disappointing summed United up yesterday.Heartbroken sums me up.This game came in the way of all the momentum we have gathered in the last couple of matches especially against Arsenal at OT.Cleverly had an absolute shocker.Fellaini did well although he has to cut out some of the recklessness from his game.Is decent on the ball but off the ball his work leaves a lot wanting.

Cardiff fans booing Giggs that is disgraceful,
About the game United nowadays don't create enough to win games. As soon as the 2nd was scored we started defending too deep and thus invited pressure on ourselves. In the buildup to their 2nd goal fellaini was slapped in the face ref saw it and ignored.
Cleverley plays like he won a raffle to play for united I bet if he had not come through the academy he would not be a united player.I think anderson is better atleast he tries to do things when on the ball

That was a bit disjointed. Chicharito got no service at all. There was no cohesion and the pressure towards the end really rocked us and resulted into the goal. Evra did well to score though on the goal I thought he should have been more alert. All our attacking impetus came from the left. We are forcing chance creation.

Ferdinand, paired with Jonny Evans in
his first league start for two months,
looked every day of his 35 years as he
struggled to cope with the
acceleration of United old boy Fraizer
Campbell, a striker he would have
eaten for breakfast at his peak. i think moyes got his substitutions wrong again against a cadiff side wit lot off pace, he should hav broth in Nani to replace Rio, why smalling move to d Center back with Varlencia at rite back and Nani replace valencia on the wings. think that wud hav injeted more pace to push caddiff back to there own half leaving space for united to play with the ball at the final minute. what do u think Guys?

Moyes needs to grow balls and play rooney in carricks place.... or get one of sean goss or ben person.... say am crazy but the two kids will do better than clevs and fellain.... playing 442 is utter rubbish.... with a mediocre mildfield.... Moyes manchester united is not england national team.... play clevs while anderson can do better... y play smalling at rightback yet fabio can do better he fuwking played in a champions league final!!!!
