Chelsea's results aren't that impressive. 3 days after we played Singha Allstars they played them. With 3 extra days training and acclimatisation they could only win 1-0 with the goal coming from a penalty. The Thai league is currently half way through.

The Malaysian team they beat 4-1 is weaker than the A-Star team we played and won by the same score. This team themselves are between seasons just like the Aussies

They then went to play the Indonesia all stars, the weakest opponent of the 3 and won 8-1. It looks good but even if the conditions were as challenging as the ones United have faced in Japan its not given them a great workout. Next they fly to the US to play Roma. Roma haven't started pre season yet as their season kicks off later than ours. Chelsea will be the 3rd match they will play after the MLS All Starsand Toronto.

Arsenal played the Indonesia side that Chelsea beat 8-1 and won 7-0. Them went to Vietnam and won 7-1. When they have gone to Japan to play better sides they have won them both but haven't by all Accounts been that impressive. Against Grampas who are 14th in the league they won 3-1 and Urawa who are 4th 2-1 so while they got the wins they weren't exactly impressive. (we played 3rd and 5th)

As for the J-League being championship level I don't agree. World Soccer Magazine ranks the leagues each year and their latest rankings that were out not long ago were as follows. Notice the j-League are ranked Joint 11th with Portugal. The top leagues of Belgium, Turkey, Sweden, Ukraine and Russia all come below them and I would say all are stronger than a Championship team

And the fact that they are midseason is a major factor

25 = Uruguay | Primera Division
25 = South Africa | Premier Soccer League
25 = Scotland | Premier League
25 = Paraguay | Primera Division
23 = UAE | Pro League
23 = Ecuador | Serie A
20 = Poland | Ekstraklasa
20 = Colombia | Primera A
20 = Australia | A-League
19. Switzerland | Super League
18. Sweden | Allsvenskan
15 = Ukraine | Premier League
15 = Turkey | Super League
15 = Belgium | Pro League
14. China | Super League
13. Russia | Premier League
11 = Portugal | Primeira Liga
11 = Japan | J1 League
10. Argentina | Primera Division
9. France | Ligue 1
8. Netherlands | Eredivisie
7. USA | MLS
6. Mexico | Liga MX
5. Brazil | Serie A
4. Italy | Serie A
3. Spain | La Liga
2. England | Premier League
1. Germany | Bundesliga

People seem to be forgetting the conditions that the lads are playing in, 30 degrees and 90% humidity. That's like playing football in a sauna, I know I couldn't do it. It's only Pre-season for Christs sake.

Both teams play in same conditions. These are top athletes. I am sure they can handle conditions as well as their opponents. They have been in a few hot countries already.

So you do realize you cited a list of leagues that rate the American mls over respected leagues like dutch and french... list is invalid imo. Theres no way the mls is as technical or talented or competitive as ligue 1
