What is Berbatov supposed to do upfront on his own.?

Macheda is God - I wouldn't say we have been poor. We are sticking to a game plan and that is not to get beat. Boring as fuck to watch but it usually gets us results. Vidic ain't right though. Really hope one of him or Rio are fully fit for Sunday and bring Evans in. Berba getting well fucked off with the service. Fuck it go 4-4-2 and get Owen on.

@Sam the kenyan red

to be fair very dull.nani and fabio have been good but the final ball has been poor.Berba ahs been very isolated up front.he needs someone to partner him up front.Valencia has been invisible.best chacne has been a 25 yard strike by scholes which bounced just in front of the keeper.they have had a few chances but nothing to worry Van Der Sar.

Just read some of the comments and am surprised at people (who I have never seen on this blog) saying get Nani off. Why? He is the only player that has actually run at CSKA. Love the way Ando can be fucking awful but still never gets slated.

Artificial pitch isnt helping us at all ... The ball is bouncing weirdly as if it were a rugby ball

53min- I see Berbatov is taking up where Ronaldo left off. Lets see him banned- far worse than Eduardos.

Neville has been superb imo, Scholesy was good. Nani showed promising signs in the second half n Berbatov was really fucked.

For a distant Euro away fixture it was a good result. Some players looked ropey, some didn't (especially Nani who was causing havoc) but it's hard to take a game like that as an indication of general form.

great result for united. though a game a little bit frustrating until valencia scored. now waiting for a good weekend to pile more misery into this is our year team hahahaha

You have to love how Fergie has become a master of getting away wins in Europe.

@King Eric:

I really wanted to break my TV with some of Nani's decision making.The reason United fans get upset with him, is because he makes such a hard effort to get into good positions, but he finds a way to mess up his final ball. It has become very frustrating. That being said, Anderson is still nowhere near the player he can be either. I expect more from these 2.

Sam, gerry's obviously afraid of getting merked off!
the offending player lifted his leg. Ok Berba made a meal of it. but don't you dare say there was no contact. Like Eduardo, and that little shit Eboue trying to get Evra sent off!!? You are usually reliable for a goon take on shit but that is sum childish bullshit! Grow a pair mate. + that's how you keep a 0-1 in Europe. Ya dig!?

this is our year team...hahaha classic...
i dont know we dont play well and still winning...we lost two key player and still winning...this game we are without wayne and still winning...
before the season i do think we going to be developing not winning this season...but the hell...even valencia start to look like certain ronaldo now...

yes we won!! this is an important victory as it will take a hell lot of pressure off us for the remainder of this stage.

it was a really good second half performance. we did just, really just enough to win the game .

I like how Anderson is becoming a real CM. His vision and passes are getting better. The CSKA twins got a big headache each from Valencia and Nani.

Berbatov is a beauty. He is fast becoming our most important player now.

That game was set up for a player like nani long ball doesn't work so you need a skillful player to play the ball on the run at there feet. Valencia did well in the second half. Oshea kept there big gun quiet he did super. Schole wonderful . Fabio did enough tonight to get a starting place against Liverpool thou I can't see it happening, luckly it was only cramp that had it takin off. Owen coming on let berba be the player that I love

Nani, ando and neville had a good game. Valencia was invisible in the first half, but he saw more of the ball in the second and got us the winner. Good result, although it was frustrating to watch at times. Any news of fabio's injury?

@King Eric:

I saw your post at the other topic. You are right. That could be our line up on Sunday. Playing Fletch on right, gives us the option of switching the system from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 at any time.

And so did berbatov. He did not dive by the way, clearly there was contact. Stupid decision by the ref.

Nani was good today. He played a big part for our goal. And his one-two with Valencia which set Valencia up only for the shot to hit the bar, was a beauty too.

Berba needs a bit more optimism in his life. I know 3 LONG years @ Spurs robbed him of that. Although most times the tantrums were justified. He needs to take one of his chill pills and realise 'oh yeah... Giggsy, Wazza & Pat are gonna be back to feed me on Sunday... yeah... ...nice shot Nani.' just do the thumbs up or weak applause thing n the guy might try harder to place it on yer head next time!
Ando's passing range was 9/1
I think Vida was most troubled by the bouncing ball, flapping at it like a baby horse, but that pitch (which he should know!) was dodgy so I'll forgive him. Just hope he stays focused for the Torres matchup! (or kicks his dodgy ankle 2nd min;O)
For an away CL win, with a clean sheet & solid performance, that was a 8/10 for me. (-2 for not making Berba happy)

pps. Just in: don't worry kids, Berba is saving the magic show for Sunday!!
Yip.

Very professional performance. That's how you do it in Europe dippers and Gerry you cunt. How bitter must one person be that midway through a UNITED game an Arsenal fan comes on a UNITED blog ? Strange. Really chuffed for Valencia two in two now for the lad. MUST use his left more though. Ando had a much better second half. We basically controlled the game and at no point looked like we were gonna lose. I love Berbatov and the service for the first 70 minutes was shocking but I am very surprised that people are saying he played well. I thought he cut a very frustrated figure tonight but rightly so. Great result.

Costas - Oh no don't get me wrong pal I feel exactly the same way about Nani. Just thought he didn't warrant people saying take him off!

As for Akinfeev I am not too keen on United getting him. Great saves but very dodgy at high balls due to the fact he is only just over 6 feet tall.

Finally following the match I turned talkshite on. Was superb listening to bitter Stan backtracking about his recent Valencia comments about him not being fit to play for United and just being a "big lump".

Bring on the Scousers and I am going.

Sorry forgot to say that Fergie said he had taken Rio and Scholes off with Sunday in mind. Does that mean Scholes is likely to start? Really got to go with Valencia now as he seems to be finding a scoring touch. Other than that I would go Fletch, Ando, Carrick and Giggs across the park.

thank god edwin is back. easy game for him, but van der sar's confidence and composure has such a huge calming influence on the rest of the team, especially the back line. i get a sick feeling of impending doom when his not in there! job done, is it sunday, yet???

Anderson seems to me to have flubbed his cameo as an attacking midfielder tonight. That was his role at Porto but he seems to play better for UTD further back, as a midfielder but I have no idea how his game would be described: "defensive midfielder" ? "box-to-box" ? or ?? His best games seem to happen when he has a holding-brief - "shit on Fabregas" or "stuff Gerrard"
