this was building on us from pre-season. we did not have a single cleansheet and at that time i was thinking, this type of defending will cost us. anyways here are my observations.

1. A tv analyst said a couple of weeks ago that vidic is not performing at the same level as the previous seasons. he has become a lazy defender. for me the culprit for the last 2 goals was vidic. he has the better jumping and heading powers and he has to be marking cahill because i saw evans marking yakubu.

2. Neville, Scholes and Evra looked exhausted for the last 20 mins. the closing down outside the box was becoming lesser by the minute. it was this lack of closing down that gave everton the opportunities. why was gibbo not brought on for scholes is beyond me.

3. we have become a team who was feared to a team who teams fancy to beat (ala arsenal). we dont control the game anymore which means the opposing team gains confidence and then we crumble under pressure. i dont know if its the coaching that is at fault or the players themselves but something needs to be changed.

We have done our shopping for the future, some at a premium cost. but what to do if we want to change something now?

Why have we paid 10 million for a centre half and dont play him how the fuck is oshea evans and gibson even at the club never mind in the team .none of the so called youngplayers are up to it for fuck sake . if rio is not playing next week ladyboy will have a field day .vidic is not playing aswell as he can how would you feel with evans at the side of you.

I can't believe we threw away 2 points AGAIN! Still too early for a knee jerk reaction but I just hoped that by May we won't look back and regret this...

I know mate and Im all for having a whinge about the shite performance of the last 3 mins, its just the end of the world mongers, it really pisses me off!! and everyone starts with the Chelsea this and Chelsea that, the fact is we played well for 90 mins (with a suspect line up if Im honest) and then it was a shocking defensive lapse at the end I agree but we are 4 games into the season and we havent lost a game, there's a long way to go. Like I say I think a few people need to truly know the bad times at Utd before they can bring the 'doom' like some do mate!!

Its strange what happened to Evans. In his first season it seemed like heading clear was his forte. Now, he keeps getting caught under the ball and can't get any distance. Probably just a loss of form, as happens with all young players. I still believe in the lad. Maybe he was taking his place a little too lightly, Rio's return should bring the best out of him.

When u field a team with an average age of close to 40 - what do u expect...... Rio back and the avg. age increases even more.

Lets hope that Queiroz comes back and helps develop the kids and tighten up the defense, like he did the other 2 times.

Let's get it straight. That was Utd's best performance of the season. Despite a sluggish start to the game we were able to cope with what Everton threw at us, despite the histrionics of their moronic fans.

Evans I thought handled Cahill and Fellaini pretty well in open play. Yet again though we see the sight of John O'Shea, arms outstretched, when he has been beaten in the air...again!

For 90 minutes, Utd were the better side. This hurts cos it doesn't happen to many teams, let alone Utd (and Preston for that matter..the irony cannot be lost there).

Chelsea aren't superb and have played cannon fodder. Yet they have maximum points. Let's move on, beat Rangers and the Dippers and we'll be two points better off than we were from the same games last season.Should have been much better, but it's gone now. Accept it and cut the ridiculous sniping.

@Gee

Agree with your sentiments mate, the end of the worlders do need to see the full picture. Im just still proper wounded that we gave them miserable scouse cunts a point. I think people are over rating our performance today, i thought Everton were the better team in the first half, us in the second.
We let three shit goals in today all defensively shocking.

I dont want to jump on the Evans band wagon but I am lost for words when a centre half cant jump a foot off the ground unmarked to head the ball?

i was at the ganme i am jiust honme from liverpool the cunts kept us in after the match. we all taught we had won we were siging viva roanldo that by roanldo and all the old songs. and 3 minutes we all shook our hands saying well done lads. and then the cunts scored and again are heads dropped people around me started crying which i never say before. we nevere felt this down. man united did not sign all the way back to london like normanly do . it was one of the worst away trips i evere had i do not want to go through that again.

i go to every away ganme every honme ganme. and you say fergie will short it. fergie has being there a every long time now. surley the fuck he would have shorted it buy now. i cant beilve sonme saying fergie wil short it out it happend at fulhanm and o fergie will short it out two ganmes letter its still the sanme thing shocking. i travel up and down the country. . i jiust feel away from honme fergie doesnt no what team to put out. at old trafford its easy . teams coming fear playing there. you lot say fergie short out face it it happens year and year out he is not going change. when rio comes back to be grand. but fergie didnt short that. rio jiust pure class. the onlything fergie needs to short out is go awy and buy a top defender and get rid of evans . he nearly oast the ganme in ac milan in san siro. and the following ganme was taken a part buy everton and lost 3-1 last season. we need a plan b when rio is out or vidc a good shut is wesely brown. fans cant understand why he is not in of evans dont get me started about john o shea. god all might what shite day away at everton.

A blue here,

I'd just like to say what a player Paul Scholes still is. His passing and reading of the game is superb, always seems to be in the right place.

Put your money on our Wayne scoring next week against them!

@ giggs11

I know I'm gutted too mate, I don't think we were brilliant but with the team we put out we played alot better than I was fearing lol. As for Evans I think they were looking to put him under pressure all game and he just buckled, it's a shame coz I'm a big fan of his but at the mo I'm thinking we should have kept Piqué!! But to give him a bit of credit, he made 2 cracking diving blocks. Just hope the lads get their heads up for the dippers and Rangers!!

@Rooneyisclass

the people on here have all right to be pissed and over-react, stop trying to appear calm headed. This is a big failure on the team today because we are now 4 pts behind and have the scousers next weekend, lose that and chelski slaughter blackpool and we're 7 pts behind them and might not even be in the top 4.
Ppl think every year we are gonna start slow then pick it up and catch everyone up, one these years it's not going to happen and this might be that year

I`m not trying to appear calm,I`m just a realist, chelsea will drop points when least expected, and utd will get points when they dont deserve them...for everyone to start panicing after a freak comeback by everton is embarrassing....yes it was awful defending, and yes it shouldnt have happened, and fergie made mistakes(john o`shea for one) but no matter what team he picks some people moan, and I for one would have took a draw away to everton at the start of the game.Like I say utd have no divine right to win every game, they have to earn it,yesterday they never, now they have to learn from it!!

I wasn't expecting us to win i also thought we would get a draw so i'm not upset just disappointed. This club has gotten so arrogant over the past years and it's now getting annoying.
I for one don't expect this team to learn at all and will mess up alot more this season.

Doubletrouble

what u on about.....This club has gotten so arrogant over the past years.

we lost the lead yesterday because we decided to stupidly give the ball straight back to them from our kick-off......sunday league style football. everton had f*ckall to lose by then. when they put that cross in for the equaliser i couldnt believe the amount of bodies they managed to get in their. its law of averages they were gonna create summat.

it still shocks me tbh. its not our style. jesus we only had to keep the ball for afew mins.

can some1 tell me who it was who just hoofed the ball into evertons half from our kick-off like a hot potato.......i bet Fergie gave him a hairdryer to remember

Always Be Closing September 12, 2010
@doubletrouble - you're having a go at someone for being calm? What are you on about?

We lost to both Fulham and Everton last year, it's an improvement on that, even if we should've beaten them both times.

Chelsea make no difference to us, if we lose to Liverpool, I'll be annoyed, but we have to play Blackpool as well and will give them the battering they deserve to bring them back down to earth. We also have to play Chelsea twice, we've shown we can beat them as per the Charity Shield; it'll come.
