This is so fucking ridiculous. Back to early season days passing sideways and backwards with no passion, no urgency, no clue.

We are so predictable, that we can play until tomorrow and not score.

We had a chance to seal a top 4 position this week, but playing like this we will let scousers in!

How can that be offside if it came from a deflection?? Blind didn't pass the ball to Falcao he blocked it

Bad day at the office. Yes.
We have regressed to our true level. 4th.
Some of us got carried away.
It is clear now. We really do need a right back, central defender, central midfielder and one winger.
There is a silver lining behind every cloud. This run almost disguised our true level just like preseason did.
Thank God for small mercies!!!

If you look at the names we have and other teams...i accounted today that 24 playerd earning 12 million per year. 24x12= 288 million euros.
Ig we look at the wages it seems like we have 24 Ronaldos at the team. And we don t...

i agree with United 24. It's just been an overall bad day at the office. That's all it is. A write off day and says sweet fuck all about how far we have come this season. Just need to take this on the chin and move on. No overreacting like several of us are already doing on here.

Still 7 points ahead and Liverpool have to go to Hull on Tuesday. If Hull can do us a favour, we'll still be solid. Top 4 is all that matters. Nothing else.

This United team has made a fair amount of progress this season in terms of results but it is no where near a title challenging one. Some players have punched above their weight but time to find better quality to replace the likes of Carrick.

Blind is a good intelligent player but his positioning and mobility has to be questioned. Outplayed and out ran by The likes of bloody Gareth Barry & McCarthy.

Fellaini is another good squad player for a plan B but blatantly limited. This squad needs another influx of quality just to move up another gear.

Everton exposed the back line which still requires more quality. The central midfield is still not good enough. Herrera is a top player but if United can get in the likes of gundogan or players of equal quality, they can step it up

The team also needs a bloody right back. Valencia, as sturdy and committed as he is will never be a starter. Caught out a couple of times and costing the team goals.

all round wake up call for Louis van gaal who seems to be riding on a wave of winning a couple of big games. Roll your sleeves up and start the spark up this team needs to go up another gear. The quality isn't sufficient enough.

It was a really poor performance by everyone out there today. And there is no need to single out falcao. He's been shit all season but today he was just average which was better than almost every other player. I actually thought DiMaria played really well. As soon as he came on he started creating chances out of nothing. Really disappointing. We made an average Everton side seem world class.
Only players I can't fualt today are: DeGea Smalling Herrera Young DiMaria

I don't know if Falcao has regressed or we've been sold a fraud. A shadow of the player that was bullying defenders and smashing them in.. weak, poor touch, no drive, poor technique.. no desire. He has been truly well exposed. Monaco will shift him off to serie a.. a slower league that suits his limited style. Awful

That was a terrible game, almost as if Liverpool's draw yesterday was in the back of their minds as soon as they went 1-0 down. What horrible goals to concede too, absolutely terrible. Bad days all around, no positives.

But fuck it, West Brom at OT next so let's just take out our frustration on them! Considering liverpool have chelsea coming, there's no reason to think this will cost us in a major way, but I am disappointed with that. Now's not the time to be preparing your holidays boys!

I agree with Samuel today was just a reminder that this team is far far far away from challenging for a title. Have to first get a proper right back, at least two big time defenders, another midfielder as competent as Carrick (was happy with the Gundogan rumors but apparently it was all a lie), a proper winger to pair with Di Maria and a quick striker as we will be losing two of our 3 strikers this summer.

@MobiMulla how can you fault Di Maria, yet say you thought he played really well when he came on?!

MobiMulla April 26, 2015
Majority of you will disagree with me because everybody believes McNair is the best defender in the world but I thought he was the worse of the lot. He passed it well and dribbled out of defence well a few times but at the defensive aspect he made many many mistakes. Luckily Smalling was good and Jones didn't play because had either of them done that we'd be saying their united careers should be over.

Samuel,

We got mugged with Falcao, simple as, it is his injury, nothing else.

And for the money paid, Di Maria has hardly set the place alight either

Well, 3 goals conceded from defensive lapses, plus no end product up front again.

It is as clear as daylight who was the catalyst for our fantastic 6 game run. Michael Carrick is his name

I didn't fault him. When I said everyone I meant as a team on a whole we were poor. If 1 guy plays 10/10 and 10 play 1/10 it'll still be classed as an overall poor performance.

Unfortunately at this point in the season we can't just "write off" matches. Frankly, we need the points. Anyone who thinks we're entitled to the 4th Champions League place, or that we're not being dragged back into a 4th place shitfight is sorely mistaken. "Bad day at the office" is just an easy way to rationalize a piss poor, unacceptable, potentially costly performance. That's not random bad luck, it's a toothless, careless performance. No offense to anyone, but let's acknowledge what it is.

@MobiMulla --> have to agree, McNair really seemed out of his depth for me today, he's just not ready for a challenge like this. That first goal, he should have sent the ball to row Z as soon as it was physically possible to do so, he also seemed sloppy later, that one where he gave away the corner when he had plenrty of time to put it out for a throw in etc. really got on my nerves.

Biut when it comes down to it, we had nobody else available.

What we need is not "a proper right back, at least two big time defenders, another midfielder as competent as Carrick (was happy with the Gundogan rumors but apparently it was all a lie), a proper winger to pair with Di Maria and a quick striker".

We actually need more overpriced homegrown players who have no technique but can run around in circles a lot.

Why do people overreact after a loss? We were simply poor in most aspects. We did create chances but were just too switched off to take advantage. Everton did a good job of rattling our players. Too many mistakes made by individual players. Except for the second goal I think we could have avoided the other two. Blind simply needs to get back to LB. Shaw's positioning when we are defending counter attacks will cost us in the future. The combo of McNair,Shaw and Blind today was not having a great day. I think we need to take stock and reload and not panic. We need more aggression all round. You get pushed off the ball push back. Don't try to be too smart especially if the ref is not blowing the whistle. Next game we are back at Old Trafford and I think we should win it. Our away form has really been poor so the more home games we play the better I feel. I think we have two left for the season so we need to win those without fail

Just pathetic. I am generally positive but today was horrendous. Not trying to blame LVG but what was his preparation for the game. I know we missed carrick, I know we had a weak back 4 but still he didnt do anything to protect them. No plan B just kept on doing the same and this is the major worry I have with LVG. He has done a tremendous job but doing the same thing is foolish.

As for players, god bless them, Young back to his best and Valencia giving him company. Rooney has been average for god knows how many games. De gea well his mind was not in the game, It was his worst performance. De gea sort your mind up, you are playing for Manchester United and not Real madrid. I still think we will be in top 4 but we have to improve a lot . And yes BYE BYE Falcao, and if anyone comes and says falcao is a very good striker he deserves his chance then they may also hop on with him. RVP played in a shit system and yet scored 10 goals but falcao couldnt do crap.

Roll on to WBA and freaking beat them and get the season back on track. Atleast end it well.

For once I agree with Mobimulla. There's literally nobody to scapegoat for this performance today. They were ALL bad. This was not the fault of any one player. Instead of trying to pick out a player to scapegoat just take the loss on the chin and move the fuck on.

De Gea was appalling come out, get the ball and ease the pressure on your defence. He has completely give up already in Madrid. Young looked scared of Coleman. Valencia was sleepy. Why was Smalling shielding De Gea for the second goal instead of somebody who is not really tall and good in the air ?. Falcao coming on is a waste of time. Di Maria was so bollockless whacking the ball long every time and giving it away easily. The people belly aching about Carrick need to give over. I thought Herrera and Shaw were very good. What a shit day.

Trevor - if United aren't careful, they will make hard work of even finishing fourth.. which would be a colossal shambles. I think a team that has part of its key game plan based around Fellaini.. even when United were winning, I still felt the need for an upgrade of quality on some players who are clearly performing above their actual ability.

De gea looks a little knocked off his focus at the moment.. huge speculation over his future at United. His performances have dipped no doubt. Defence needs an upgrade on quality. Never going to be sold on Jones, Mcnair, Evans and blackett. Need two top class defenders. Need a right back too.

In central midfield.. Carrick is good to go but he won't be Improving. There's no one within this squad who is capable of controlling the tempo of a game. Immediately Carrick is out, composure goes to pot. Blind is too slow. Herrera is more of a dynamic box to box central midfielder and needs someone to compliment him. The central midfield weakness can only emphasised through Rooney having to drop deep (he was poor today).

The striking department needs beefing up. Falcao will be sent back on a boat, van persie is declining.. need a quick, skilful all round forward. The team won't match the top team around Europe until it has sufficient quality in key areas. United are some way behind and it takes huge kick up the bollocks defeat like this to highlight that

I'm out- don't want to read the post mortem on here and get more aggravated. Same story against weaker teams that sit back. We've let players like Shelvey, Ki, mirallas, and McCarthy score on counters like they are Messi. Someone said we need a new RB, CB, and MF. True but we need to find a way to play against EPL teams away as well. Next week we better see a response to this shellacking. Just saw the replay on first goal, AV misses header to stop counter so he was responsible for all three goals. But in his defense, he's not a RB. We've put players there for four years that aren't natural RBs.

It's obviously a disappointing result but we can take a few lessons from the past two games;
1. We'll always struggles against teams that defends deep.
2. We can't afford to make Fellani as the linchpin of the team offensively especially against team playing deep.
3. Carrick is obviously the most important player in the most proclaimed LvG philosophy.
4. I'm very optimistic that ManUtd will come good next season with 3-4 signings especially in midfield and defense.
5. If Everton could score 3 against us then Chelsea is a shit team.

I love Carrick, think he's a wonderful player with composure and class to spare. But why on earth are we so completely dependent on a soon to be 34 year old defensive midfielder? FFS, no Carrick is not a reason for losing, it's an excuse.

Blind was good but considering how we conceded the first goal, I think Carrick would have stopped it. Stats don't lie, and in last 3 years whenever he has been out we have missed him badly at either end of the pitch.
