Berbatov is a play maker and comes deep to collect the ball and has a mountain of experience comapared to Macheda. Macheda could come good, I just feel i haven't seen the same amount of development from him that ive seen from others. Its way to early to say goodbye to him, some players are late bloomers ala Forlan.

Yea i know i didn't compare kiko to berba you did,

To me ever since the goal he scored against Aston villa iv'e seen nothing to suggest he would make it, think he should go on loan. On the other hand Wellbeck has got loads to his game more than kiko. Man of the math for me. Kiko won't be ready for united for few years yet, and some fans want him in the first team this season. They are blinded by a wonder goal, i say send him out on loan let him gather experience elsewhere.

Rapheal is the business... Hoping Fabio can step up too maybe just bit rusty! Berba is class act! Obertan has got some talent... Just needs fine tuning!

Night all.

obertan and rafael.. what a pair
obertan is looking good.. has got amazing amount of pace!! just needs to work on finishing even though he finished cooly and on his crosses..
p.s rafael is brilliant!!! that one run was worth the entry fee.. he will be world class... oshea looked shite and gave the ball away time after time as he always does... rafael and fabio to start games more!! also fabio starting gives a idea that pat will be rested more this season.. with fabio likely to start... its looking good for us... welbeck needs to work on his finishing and well basically most things.. macheda??? go out of loan son.. diouf will be ahead of you and he just came last season.. we still love you for that goal tho!!!

sorry i didn't mean Berbatovs and Machedas PLAYING style were similar I meant their style of looking like they take it easy. Running around like a Tevez looks good to fans as it shows a work ethic, strolling and strutting tends to make you enemies. Hope thats cleared that up.

Viv Anderson on Berbatovs shot that hit the crossbar - "A Russian Linesman would have given that."

Funny Bastard! All things considered did alright for a 2nd pre -season game vs a team who are half way through the season. Impressed with the young'uns. Lets not write Kiko off he's the youngest one in that squad and so far taken more of his opportunities than Welbeck . He would have played a lot more had he not got injured last season. His movement is good as is his first touch although tonight wasn't his best game.

I still think Macheda is better and has more potential than Welbeck, despite their performances today. Just that today one was eager to make a good impression and did well, the other disappointed a lot. Kiko will come good next season when given oppourtinities, and I'd like to see Diouf going out on loan instead of Welbeck. Cory did very well too.

why would u want diouf to go out on loan? diouf has speed and finishing... welbeck needs to work on his finishing still and first touch and movement and how many times has he been out on loan? welbeck is not the answer... the real reason why we won is because of rafael's energy.. he changed the game.. thats my opinion anyone agree??

Missed the game again, but I woke up at 5 am. Argh. Anyway, nicely taken goal by Obertan. Can't say the same about his celebration though!

Cleverly best performing youngster in this game with Obertan and Welbeck a close second. Rafael seems so much more steady than Fabio its unreal..possibly because Fabio is playing on the left as a ritghty..but he has played there his while career but he just seems less steady on the ball and more prone to losing it....Macheda still looks good but didn't link up well today...he has very nice touch and is quick but needs to link up better...its funny almost like Fergie wanted to try the old youth/reserve pairing of Welbeck Macheda but it didn't quite come off...this game should have easily been a draw or United loss but good result all the same..Obertan just needs to know when to slow down a tad and pick his moments to use his pace and skill..more often than not he looks a man in a hurry and forgets the ball or gives it away cheaply...Scholes pure class..GIggs facilitating...COrry Evans cameo was ok..looked a busy little player...

Introduction of Berba and Rafael after 60 minutes changed the game flow.
Our attacks became sharper and meaningful..
PIG did well, except one sloppy save in front of himself.
Danny was indisputable MOM.

Completely agree with u mate that rafael was the difference maker.I have always been saying that rafael should be our regular rb now instead of nev or oshea.I would be hugely surprised if nev starts more than rafael this season.
I think people should not write off macheda or for that matter any other youngster so early.

WHAT!!!! diouf has finishing!?!?!? im sorry but what makes you think that? i have seen this lad waste chance after chance at both international level for senegal and for the reserves!!! i dont know where you get the idea he finishes well from!

14 is not that dreaded. After all, David May and Jordi Cruyff have worn it, lol.

Watching highlights of the game. I wonder if the loan move awoke Welbeck.

@Costas

Tosic and Alan Smith didn t do to well mate. Neither did Cruyff or David May. HOping Javier can do much better than his predecessors in the number 14

@aig - Heinze never wore number 14, but sure when have the daily mail let the truth get in the way of a good story?
Hopefully Chicharito will be the first really successful 14 since... kanchelskis? Really?! I can see why its 'dreaded'.
Though in my opinion Smithy did alright for us and scored one of the best European goals ive seen.

@AIG

Like bigphil, I thought Smith did ok. And yes, Heinze never played a simple game with 14. He just got it because Hargo got 4. And David May got 14 only in the twilight of his United career because Seba had 4. It's ok though. Numbers don't have anything to do with it.

@bigphil

Yeah but i expected more from Smithy. He never was the same player after that injury. Shame for that. remember him scoring some vital late goals in the seasons before his horrible injury

I am more than confident Hernandez will do a great job. As i said yesterday i have a funny feeling this kid is going to be one of the best strikers in the years to come. Cant wait to see him in the United jersey

I have always thought Kiko would make it ahead of Danny. On recent eveidence I may be wrong. Wellbeck looks alot better. More fluid than last season and has bulked up more. He is great on the ball and better positionally. Really starting to rate the kid. Obertan showed flashes. Berbatov looks sharp as fuck. The twins fantastic. Really excited about the season.

@obertanthenewstar, Diouf is not a great finisher. His passing is also erratic and needs to be worked on. He would benefit from first team starts at another club, get used to the football played here and gain more experience - it'll do him wonders. Welbeck on the other hand has developed progressively and is ready for the first team, imo. What impressed me most from his performance yesterday was the lack of selfishness, which he clearly cut out from his game.
