As far as the Fellaini Valencia Young thing goes. I've ALWAYS backed Valencia and Fellaini. I've criticised young and strongly for his diving but this season I haven't said a bad thing regarding him. I've constantly given him credit for his good form.

But what I'd like to point out is how long does a poor player have to be in good form until we accept that he's actually a good player playing at his level? Because surely young hasn't had a purple patch all season? It's highly likely he's improved under LVG and is actually playing at the level he should be which is a good level.

Doesn't matter who the opposition is as soon as LVG made the substitution Utd looked like a completely different team and i'm pretty sure there was only me and a couple of others who wanted to see Young back in the line up,so addressing the problem and turning the game on its head,it was a masterstroke

Oh and mata has played well this year and he is a top player but I think he's time at united is over. I have a feeling LVG is about to change his system yet again and there won't be space for someone like mata.

What has opposition got to do with a great sub. We were trailing 1-0 against a preston side who were disciplined and lvg changed our shape and we won. Again why its hard to give credit.

I think LVG has not given up on mata especially if we play with one striker. Today's line up was perfect, there will be games where lvg prefers Mata to fellaini or falcao. I have a dutch friend who said lvg always prefers to have a small squad and not such a big squad like he has with Manchester United. Many players will leave this summer and I hope Matais not one of them

But what i think is unfair is the criticism he is getting when he hasnt even been used in a formation that he has earnt his formation on. he has spent the season effectively being cut off at the knees. he hasnt earnt a place next year, and he wont in the remainder of the season. but he will go elsewhere and score more then 20 goals a season (if they use him correctly)

This is what i m talking about. I dont care about Falcao or someone else, but just to be fer to this guy. If you give someone manny chances and hr doesn t use it, than ok...but we shut on this guy since he came here. We act like Real Madrid fans with no mercy at all and with so different criteria. We dont like him, like fans don t like Bale in Madrid. Whatever he do, they are negative

Mobi when Young first signed he was playing really well for us,over the last few seasons he's had his fair share of injuries but when fit just like Tony V,Sir Alex played him a lot,it's just some posters like samuel have a check list and a agenda against certain players and then of course the trolls who are beginning to show up again because people are going after LVG.Posters like midfield man, jose, mav, are out and out trolls just show up to stir the shit.

ash - your right read it back and you did say that

i wouldnt necessaily say fellaini turns quicker then falcao but he does turn better (due to physicality etc)

but the thing is falcao dosnt necessarily need to turn. at atletico and porto his game was always running towards goal. he had 2 wide attackers either side of him and 3 midfielders beihind him all feeding him through on goal. he never had to have his back to goal cause he had 5 creative players behind him wanting to put him through on goal so all he had to do was make runs and get in goal scoring positions

not an excuse for him, but he dosnt deserve some of the criticism everyone is giving him cause he isnt being used properly. it shouldnt really have happened in the first place. LVG said recently he wont judge falcao just on his goals but everything else he does. but i ask LVG why not? he did that with welbeck and sold him straight away. welbeck is far more suited to this system then falcao, and whats more welbeck has no injury record, is british, is young and has lot of room to improve. alot of contradictions

fuck me you'd have to be a blind man not to see Falcao has a limited skill set and is slow. He's a out and out goal poacher that's not scoring goals and has had decent chances.50 mill strikers who's only asset is to put the ball in the net bury half chances simple as,Hernandez is younger, quicker and more ruthless in front of net and oh yeah he isn't going to cost 44mill and 300k per week.

I like mata and want him to stay too but I feel this team is moving towards a 4-4-1-1 or a 4-3-3. In either formation he's competing with Wayne Rooney who is LVG's captain and and also more suited to the English style. Unless of course Rooney is used as the main striker then it'd make perfect sense to put mata in his role.

I think welbeck was sold because his finishing was very poor and that isn't the only thing lvg is looking for in a striker but probably the main thing. That's why without being biased after Ronaldo and messi I think the best forwards in the world purely in terms of finishing are RVP and Falcao. But of course its not only that. The passion the movement the intelligence the positioning the hunger the determination comes in too which both have been lacking.

Wayne, to win you need a TonyV type, add Fellaini under appreciated offensive skill add Young and Rooney, team players ready to do what their asked. And people who never played a team sport or fifa15 is all they know, they know shit about winning. Alwas saying the same shit a different way!

The sad part is falcao is not making those runs also, even rooney made those mighty runs, RVP does that but Falcao doesnt do. His movements are clearly off, Falcao's downfall has been his poor form combined with our poor creativity.

Nice point regarding welbeck. But truth is at that time any manager would have chosen Falcao over welbeck. See now we can say he should have done that but when we got falcao we were super excited. And as far as welbeck goes, lovely lad but I thought he would do more at arsenal a club which suits his style perfectly but honestly he is not proving anything there also. Hell giroud is selected over him.

And as per papers we wanted to send Welbeck on loan to spurs so that meant LVG wanted to see how he does but welbeck wanted to leave permanently so cant blame lvg or woody there.

Wayne - Exactly your saw his much it meant to fellaini when he scored, some on here had him shipped off in the summer as well, all 3 can play in a number of positions, people on here knock fellaini going up front, well united in recent months hsvr created far more with fellaini up top than rvp sndvyhr falcoa hace.

read a few match reports some are putting the Preston goal on Tony.V for being out of position but the way i saw it was drawn inside because the forward hadn't been picked up by Smalling or Rojo and DDG 9/10 would have saved it

LVG wants 4 offensive players, one cdm. He doesn't want his offensive player to make the squad doing donkey work as their best trait. Danny has no nose for goal. Great hard worker good at spacing. But....

"i don't go after them".. These players have been below par for years. That's a fact. Valencia, a declining wide man now turned defender getting a bizzare new deal. Ashley young, nearly into his last year and has never justified his signings. Jones, has yet to improve or show qualities needed at the top. These players are simply not good enough.

I have to say that the proof is in the pudding when it comes to players proving themselves to be the best. Falcao may be able to score in other european countries where players get achres of space and defenders can't defend but I think that the English game might not be suited to him. In England you simply get no time on the ball what so ever or defenses close up a lot better. It showed when Ronaldo went to spain where he only achieved one hat trick for United whilst he has 23 for Real Madrid and he instantly started nearly doubling his output. I think in Falcao we have a classic case of the Andre Schevchenko type player, prolific in much slower leagues but can't do it in England. Send him back to France and let James Wilson shine through. I also think LVG needs to decide if we're playing Tiki Taka possession football, in which case we need to play with Mata and herrera on the pitch at the same time or we're going to play with more width ( which seems to work best) with Di Maria on the wing. At the moment we're struggling but thankfully our players are showing a bit of grit when it comes to grinding out results. I think we're surviving on the fact that our better players are in fact naturally better players than what most teams have got and scraping results from natural talent more than anything else. 1 thing that gives me comfort though is the fact that LVG has been in this position with other top teams in other leagues before so we do seem to be following a common progression so hopefully we will improve and put a title charge on next season. As for the FA cup, I do think we are the favorites as I think we simply have naturally better players over the remaining competition ( including arsenal and liverpool).

Do I see some double standards( hypocrisy) .
Those preaching to us to stand by ALL our players, and support the team regardless of the circumstances, are the loudest in their criticism of Falcao.
I guess when you don't like a player( and it's been obvious who doesn't like which players on this forum), then it's okay to say they are crap, but others can't do the same...???

Exactly, mate. On another note, Rojo and smalling are meant for each other. Jones should only come in if any of this pair is injured. They should remain our 1st choice center-backs.

Trevor, same thing, i'll love Falcao to succeed, but it doesn't seem to be working. Right now, I'll prefer we play both young and Di maria as wingers and Fellaini and rooney as strikers. The duo are more effective upfront than RVP and Falcao. Wilson should be given chances too. And herrera should play from the middle in our traditional 442 formation. The opponents are very good defending our diamond formation setup. But, with wingers, we become very unpredictable. Young, januzaj and Di maria can handle the flanks perfectly.

Paschal,

I would also love to see Falcao succeed , but unfortunately I have a feeling we have seen the last of him in a United shirt .

It looks like the knee op has taken it's toll on him, same as it did for Torres .

I like Rojo a great deal, and I think Smalling gets a lot of stick when it isn't really justified .

I agree with you about Young and Di Maria as wingers also, and giving Wilson a chance.

I also think we need another striker in the Summer as Falcao will be gone, and RVP is past his sell by date ( both haven't been effective this season, and will release a huge part of the wage bill)

Well put. There are people here that try to cocoon everyone and enforce their preferences on how support is done. "Don't criticize the manager unless I say so. Don't criticize Valencia but I think Falcao is useless and Di Maria is a money chasing merc". Double standards.

Anyway as for Falcao I think he is unlucky. The system changes we improve and it seems he is the problem causer. I don't but into this whole "English football is too much for him". It's general bullshit. There's nothing special about the Premier League that hinders a player. It's normally a player being not good enough or the management screwing it up. It's not the league. Football is the same basically. That's why you find a "lightweight" team like Arsenal will have players like Carzola and Ozil shining even if their physical demeanor suggests they shouldn't according to the so called "physicality" of the league. It's a manager knowing how to set them up. Conte was able to prolong Pirlo's career at the very top level by simply playing him deepest and having two bulldogs in midfield covering him up and down. A reversal of the traditional holding player. He barely defends or runs around. Just uses his dynamic range of passing and the two box to box midfielders in Vidal and Pogba or Marchisio do the leg work for him. Falcao needs to be very high up the pitch and have dynamic players in behind him making runs. His biggest asset is finding space in and around the box. A faster version of Van Nistelrooy. If we can't play him in that role then why the hell did we buy him? Take him to Mourinho and see what happens.

With Van Gaal he has to play very deep because of the whole "patient" football which is very slow for finishers. There's no future for Falcao with Van Gaal in charge. I'm also beginning to feel that way about Mata and Di Maria. When players are misused or underused they tend to lose performance quality rapidly

Big fucking difference criticizing players and abusing them calling them hunchback's and cunts.Anyway Falcao isn't a Utd player he makes 300k per week and is going to cost the club a total of 50 mill if signed, that's what everything has to be based on.I'd heard all the hype before he arrived and quite frankly I'm shocked at his Ltd skill set and how slow he is,in a team that's been struggling he's Utd's worst player week in week out and to top things off has a mouthy fucking agent who is publicly trying to undermine our manager and interfere with club business
On talksport last night Rodney Marsh assessed Falcao as a liability, off pace and not any one part of his game is any good at the moment
I want every player who puts on a Red shirt to do well,Falcao is just not performing on any level let a lone that of one of the highest players in the World

Expressing an analysis of the merits and the faults of any aspect of United is our right.
It's inalienable, and RoM is the ideal forum to be critical.

However, by expressing our views here, we must accept that they will also be criticised.

Further, being critical is NOT the same as openly attacking our Club, staff, teams and players. Sweeping statements by blinkered self-centered know-it-alls that demonise our own will always provide a scummy reflection of the poster that lies beneath.

Wayne,

I couldn't agree more ! , the lad unfortunately just like Torres is unlikely to be the same player again after his knee op .

People keep making excuses, but he is not cutting the mustard . Some say he isn't getting the service, well in that case let's send him back and get someone who is a lot cheaper not to "get any service|"

For £300K a week you want a player to be banging in the goals, no excuses !
