Feels really good to have the 1st away win. When Stoke scored I really thought we had developed a mental block or something, but now hopefully we've got it out of the way. The season pretty much starts now.

hernandez is gonna be a superstar, i've always said he is a deadly finisher, he'll be our 20+ goal a season striker, can't wait to see how he develops over time, obertan looked good in his cameo role, he is ready for the first team, has bucked up and i'm guessing sir alex is turning him into another powerful winger but with more technical ability, all he needs now is the end product.

I'm delighted with the win, winning at stoke ain't easy trust me and when we conceded i thought oh fuck here we go.

This game has been brilliant. All season we've lacking that extra gear in attack, the sharpness to kill off a game at the end, and today it returned with a vengeance. Stoke are a really tough game at home but we had their number, great result. It's the kind of match you can easily have to take a point from but the team, today, did not look interested in only getting one point. And sure it wasn't easy and it was a battle, but that's hard games aren't easy, that's why they are called hard games. :)

United needed a big performance and a big win and we just got both at once.

Man of the match for me would be Nani, had a top game. But I thought Evra played a blinder as well and showed his old form. Good to see Brown and SuperGary back as well, both need games and they won't get much tougher workouts than this. Also Vidic and Rio were immense at the back, given the power of the Stoke attack for them to allow -nothing- at all on goal from the big attackers was a fantastic effort. How anybody can fit a guy as big as Kenwyne Jones in their pocket is a mystery.

Evra for winger!!! he does create lots of chances and disrupts defences more than Park or others...

O'shea did not have a great game and kept giving passes away....anyway loving the berba/chicha partnership....

were the united fans singing viva ronaldo? i thought I heard that chant

@RedGem - same here, when the second goal went in, i thought i was in dream land because we seem to be the one that always concedes late on, i was shaking in nervousness but its a fantastic win at a difficult stadium.

I'm also very happy that SAF was more animated today, even standing at the touchline...I was concerned in the last games when he was just sitting down looking thoughtfully at the game. He's is a fighting mode now,

VIVA SIR ALEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't too impressed with our performance to be honest. No urgency at all. Just kept inviting them to come to us. The defence had a game good game though.

Oh and viva Chicha! Rooney who? :P I love Berbachic. :P

@costas...yes. we weren't at out best, giving the ball away, loose passes and all that but I am just so relieved and ecstatic with the 3 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Berbachic...love it! :)

You know what, rooney will struggle to get back in the team when he gets back, no special treatment for him so if hernandez continues his form, he should be left in the team, anyone agree?

hernandez and berba seem to make a good combination to be honest and i'm not suprised they combinate so well.

@RedGem

Me too. And once you start failing in away games time after time, you start becoming cautious in your approach. I think that's why they team was uptight today. Now that the first away win is in the books, we can start building momentum.

@Costas...I think it was important that the team did not panic and kept their focus at 1-1. I think Berba brings that calmness to the team. Giggs usually does that, too, but..no Gggs today.

this should bring more confidence and fight to our boys.

Wow... Chico saved us. What a striker... he definitely knows where the net is.
Love the celebration with the fan.

It is such a relief... I was almost screaming to keep the ball and not cross in the last few minutes.

O'Shea did alright today... as long as the defenders don't make mistakes, we will be ok.

What exactly happened with the Gary Neville substitution? congrats on the 600 Gary, well done.

@RedGem

Berbatov's goals might have dried up, but he is very influential in our game. And today it was evident again for me that he likes players making runs beyond him. He is not that effective at leading the line.

RedGem October 24, 2010
@costas...agree, unfortunately a lot of fans cann't see his contribution...if we have a great midfield he could still be effective as a lone striker, esp. if Giggs is there...

well, off to watch the shitty arse game... let it be a draw..

Fuck yeah he should sweat on the bench, i've been saying it. No reason why we should make it easy for him. He'll know he has to step it up big time to be considered, all we need is for Hernandez to score the winner against City and he's fucked big time. Come on Hernandez !!!!

Absolutely delighted, Hernandez fantastic........... John O'shea was brilliant today...

Strange though, when we fail to win we get over 800 posts here, when we win its far less... makes you wonder

What do you think of Evra as a left midfielder? I thought he did really well and he is probably our best option at this moment.
I thought that Rio and Vidic were inmense. And what of Berbarito?? Great combo!

@ CedarsDevil

Don't know what match you were watching but O'Shea was shite again, he gave the ball away countless times and it was simple passing that escaped him!! Thats why he got taken off, he was becoming a liability. Still not 100% happy with the performance, glad we won but we still sat back and let them come on to us too much. Thankfully we got the win today!!

I was angry when I saw Oshea and G.Neville on the team shit. What ever people say, at this moment in their career they are not good enough for United (or we really have no ambition as some people say). Our players kept making loose passes all game long.
