An interesting lineup, at least we're not pretending that strikers can play wide as wingers. Would swap Rooney with Rashford though as playing 1-2's with Rooney is like bouncing a ball off the rock.

The weird thing is Swansea are so shit this team should be just enough to beat them. I'm not an Ashley Young fan at all. I'm not a big fan of Lingard either but he is a better option in my opinion. Creates chances is better in attack. To add insult to injury let's throw Fellaini in there. And dump Mhkitaryan altogether. Wow.

On the bright side we have Pogba in there. Phil Jones? Not a fan either. Phil Jones and Rojo together? I'm not feeling very confident. I was hoping to see some semblance of quality football but this combination is really making me anxious. Whatever the result I hope this is not the start of a pattern of selection.

On paper this is probably the most mediocre team we have ever put up this season in all competitions. But then again, this Swansea team is exceedingly poor and is playing some truly atrocious football along with Sunderland.

Line up is so disappointing and there's no pace in the attack. Ibra has been disappointing and doesnt deserve to start. I dont understand why mou keeps playing pogba as a 10 when we have mata and mhiki. And where is mhikitaryan. How do you buy the best player from the german league and he cant make even make the bench. I expected him to make the kind of impact de bruyne had in the epl when he moved from germany because he had similar stats in terms of goals and assists. (btw, I'm reading the formation as a 4-2-3-1 with the 2 as carrick and fellaini and the 3 as mata, pogba and rooney). Hopefully the team does well and mou has good enough reasons for the selection.

Frankly the squad is crap, 3 Gaffers 7 Windows and a rundown Wazza still is in Jose's mind, LVG and Moyes mind their best option is scary. Imo

As usual, I wish the team well, and sincerely hope they win.
If they don't, José will deserve the vitriol that follows.
If they do, he will feel vindicated, and persist with this slow team, only to be found on in subsequent games.

We are indeed in for a very long season...
If Herrera returns to replace Fellaini, the MF will seem okay. I can't say the same about that strike force or defense, long term.

Anyway, what matters most is a win today. Can't be ahead of ourselves. Go get it, boys!

Looking for a silver lining? Jones is back.
Rooney even in his best years , when he missed game time anywhere from one game to ten games, it took him 2-3 games to get his Mojo back. So even so at this version of a slow footed Wazza hopefully the goal and run of games he improves enough to help an 8th PLACE squad fight for forth place and a CL spot to help recruitment of new talent.

We pick a team no one is confident in, yet everyone ends up happy.
Those who swear by Zlatan and Pogba will say I told you so ...
Those who swear by Young, Jones, Fellaini and Rooney will say...I told you so.

Football can be that interesting, and unpredictable.

Next game versus Arsenal would probably tell us more, than today!

Its the journey so to speak. It does not matter who scored, this is not the time to stroke our ego. Swansea may be shit, but this is the same team that almost beat Chelsea after they appointed Bradley. Lets give the team and Jose credit, as easy as we give them our criticism.
