Nick

But then why so much inconsistency in your comments, you dont praise the subs he made but put our first half fiasco wholly on LVG, but nit give one praise to lvg for second half .

Anyways not interested in defending our manager even on the day we defeated our close rival liverpool.

But you already know that Van Gaal will go next week and start Mata out wide again. In the interviews today he actually said that we played better in the first half. LMAO.

Fair enough Ash, and i would normally but he's got soooooo much wrong over the past year and a half that experience has taught me it's more about blind luck with him than a grand plan in his head. Thats all. He's got a long way to go before he shows me, and a whole bunch of people, that he knows what the hell he's doing. And yes not the day to get too negative but that first half! :P

Wow. All I'm saying is Anthony Martial. I'm speechless.

I know tl many won't agree but I thought Fellaini did a marginally better job than Rooney upfront. I think the solution is to stop playing Rooney and see what happens. First half was same old crap. Second half Young came in and immediately changed the game. For all his theoretical quality Memphis was disappointing. Again. Always looking for glory and not playing it simple. Young comes in. Goes direct with his first dribble and wins the free kick from which Blind scores. Darmian is simply all that and more. The defense for the millionth time I'm impressed again. Blind was roasted by Gomis buy held his own today and was in my opinion better than Smalling today. Which is an incredibly huge compliment because Smalling was excellent. Fucking again. Luke Shaw is the real deal. I fucking mean it. It wasn't vintage stuff but it was not a rubbish second half either. Herrera and Mata I thought were curiously quiet but Bastian was on point. Incredible tackling from him. That midfield three of Herrera-Carrick and Schweinsteiger is perfect. Let's drop the two striker bullshit and keep it this way. Van Gaal seems to know the formula for big games though the simpler ones tend to elude him. But let's be honest, there's very little negative to take from this second half performance. I'm still holding my breath for great football but this was encouraging on many levels

It's complete bullshit to say Mata has been anonymous for the past five games. He has created the majority of the chances. In fact, so far this season he has either assisted or scored in every match we have a United player score. He is currently leading the chances created charts and still creates far more than Young can. It's not his fault he is being played wide. But take him out even in that position and we are going to struggle big time to score. Depay is the kind of player you want out wide. Well he hasn't done anything to impress so far yet Mata has been our best attack minded player. If we are going to remove Mata from wide then the next step should be placing him at number 10. We have no hope for creativity without Mata in the team. Even Herrera is not best suited for that number 10 role but his very presence in midfield brings energy, purpose and forward movement. Mata on the right gives you intelligence upfront that cannot be matched by anyone in the entire team. The player that ought to be dropped is Memphis. Rooney too. Replace those two with Young and Martial respectively and everything changes

Juan Mata so far this season

2 assists 1 goal
Highest shot accuracy with 12 shots
Most chances created 11 with 9 key passes

David Silva

12 chances created 4 assists and 8 key passes 2 goals

I think it's fair to say Mata is not the problem. Because there is no United player who can come close to this level of creativity in any position.

In other news. Januzaj impressed again for Dortmund today in his cameo towards the end. I think he should consider making the switch permanent. BVB know how to utilize attacking midfield players. They form the basis of their philosophy. Kagawa,Mhkitaryan,Reus,Gotze are all similar players who have flourished there. I think it could be a very good spell for him. Brilliant loan decision

Very boring game up until the end, very unlike this fixture. But then two very good players introduce themselves. First Christian Benteke with an ABSOLUTELY stunning world class goal, showing why I wanted United to sign him this summer. And then Martial just runs through the Liverpool defense like it's nothing. Almost too good to be true!

Some players in our squad need to stop going to the gym so much. They pack on too much weight/muscle and seem to become slower and clumsier because of it.

Like Jones, Memphis and others.

When Memphis gets kicked like Ronaldo b4 him he gets frustrated and it affects his game especially when the ref ignores it. Mourihno, Moyes and LVG are all coaches with over 50 years of experience between them all opted against playing Mata centrally but some specialists here seem to know better. If we played fast paced football in the first half and got destroyed ion the counter like Everton DoD to us last season the same fools here would blame the manager. U all underestimate the importance of getting results now with a new team. Idiots taking sides of pundits and writers et al. U should write an article as well and complain better yet call ur daddy to come be the manager I bet he would deliver attacking football. Finally with what Martial just did I can't understand how any fan can't be truly happy and thankful to the coach that we got a young talent than get Pedro. Truth is LVG is going to walk out this club a hero so for the next two years at least u should all GET USED TO IT.

Fact is teams don't even attack us anymore as Liverpool showed in the first half. Rewind to Moyes era when we played this fixture and remember how Liverpool came at us like dogs. This possession style if u play it long enough goals would come and when the flood gates open and the players understand themselves our football would be lethal. Let's watch Memphis in Europe where he won't be kicked as much as in the EPL and watch him perform.

Well said. So many ungrateful fans here. So happy rooney didn't play, I'm certain he would have coated us 3 points today, If he played. Well done blind, Herrera and martial. What a way to announce himself to the premier league. Rodgers the "clueless one". Came to park his hopeless and useless bus at old Trafford. Such a negative cunt. Served him right, he will always be Louis van gaal's bitch.

Our possession based football is very scary to big teams, even looserpool are now very scared to come out and attack. Lol. They parked the bus. I kinda like the system we are operating on.

it was Fellaini's first start of the year he's clearly not match fit yet, what bothers me about this blog some players are singled out and picked on without the people doing the moaning realizing the circumstances.Apart from the fact he's obviously not match fit not 1 striker has looked good under LVG,at the moment it is a wasteland position

I'll take the bark dogs waynes role right now

haven't read every comment if not at all but I see people complaining for stupid things

in big games like this, it's important to win then the playing style comes next, especially this is our onl 5th game

for fucks sake, WE WON pool 3-1 and MARTIAL scored an amazing debut goal. a legend already.

just shut it, and enjoy the moment guys. Mata a problem? piss off.

we played well.

@paschal exaclty mate, the possession play is scary, we need that crazy striker that goes towards defenders, exactly what Martial did and it would open things up. For me we played amazingly, not super great, but fuckin hell 3-1 against pool.

ENJOY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! De gea I LOVE YOU!

Fuck you all (or at least most of you). Yes, it was a turgid first half and a little bit strained at times, but we played good football in the second half and beat Liverpool convincingly overall. Some of you really should be ashamed to call yourselves "supporters".
Up United and, to quote the legendary Wayne Barker, fuck you cunts who spend their lives in constant criticism of the team you are supposed to love. Joke supporters.

Manchester United has THREE shots on target at home against Liverpool and only one of them was in open play. That is completely unacceptable. The blame is squarely on Louis Van Gaal's team selection and football methodology. I am delighted with the defensive organisation and possession based football. The problem is the rigid style of chance creation and chronic lack of width.

Oh Yesssssss. Welcome to Manchester United. Anthony Martial.

I would start him next game he won things in the air, challenged space in behind, held the ball up dealing with the rough stuff, took the chance to attacked the box and what a superb finish.

You guys are here moaning about how LVG is not doing his work well but the hierarchy are happy with him. It is in the news today that utd wants to extend his contract by one year. So that means two more years of moaning, complaining and insulting. Boring football has come to stay lmao
