I think he'll go too. He's too good to be on the bench.

Which is a shame because that guaranteed goal vs Chelsea he always gets for us will be gone too.

Juan Mata and Chicharito did more in 30 minutes than Wayne Rooney in 90 minutes

YES he improved, but you could see how Mata played in that spot and Chicharito's moveement is out of this world.

BUT SECOND half, EVERYONE stepped up, THIS IS MANCHESTER UNITED

ALSO how no one caught on this line

“Sir Alex Ferguson is sat next to Sascha Breese, the agent of Kroos, Reus and Gotze at Old Trafford today.”

What a powerful statement from Giggs and the players,this is what I call a farewell letter for these last 10 months.

This can show us that Moyes didn't know what to do with the team,Giggs in one game put all the pieces in order and United was again a well oiled machine.

I'm sorry to see leaving guys like Hernandez and Vidic,I'm sure they will thrive in their new teams,I don't know what will happen with Kagawa but I think Van Gaal would need to convince him to stay.

61% possession, 24 shots total, 11 shots on goal, 4-0 United...one ball hop from being 5-0, and at Old Trafford, with the old guard at center of defence.

Get in Giggsy

If you believe reports then Van Gaal is on his way...I was thinking 3 seasons, but Giggs might just need 1 or 2 before he is ready..either way the safe option is to get a proven winner as a stop gap solution- then Class of 92' revolution begins. Exciting times ahead for us all!!! A new United dynasty begins, we are no longer Everton- We are fecking UNITED!

A much better second half. Glimpses of the normal United again. This team is much better than they are given credit. just a few changes and they can compete for the top spot again next season.

@WeAreUnited

Spot on mate,Rooney didn't showed too much apart that second goal,Hernandez is really one of a kind but so underrated by some fans that still don't understand the value of a player like him.

Mata is an amazing player,just like Kagawa,I think Van Gaal will have a very good base to restart the giant again.

Amazing!

As a staunch Moyes defender, I want to admit that I was completely wrong! I cannot understand how he screwed up so badly. He made United look like idiots and only after watching today am I starting to realize how it was actually all in his hands.

Even the players who played badly today still played better than during their time under Moyes. Carrick even passed forward!

You can almost see the confidence growing and the relief from the players and the crowd - we are on the road to recovery.

So great seeing the class of '92 walk off applauding the crowd. Let's just give Giggs the job, what's the worst that can happen :)

So once again, I concede, I was wrong about Moyes, wrong about the players and I am just glad that this nightmare seems to be over.

Great result. Lads played really well in the second half...better than what we have seen by moyes all season.

I think giggs will make a great manager in time. However, i think LVG and giggsy on the team aswell is just what the doctor ordered

Lets not get carried away...we beat newcastle 4-0 a few weeks ago, and do any of you still remember moyes first game vs swansea?

Big name is needed to get us back to where we should be. I do think giggs has all what it takes to make a great manager in the future,but would he tactically outclass the bigger boys if given the job full time next year?

am not so sure...

@ziggy

exactly mate, Roone ywas better in the second half I'll give him that, but apart from the goal, he was shite.

and BTW Van Gaal plays 433 and at Holland Sneijder is the one in the top of the diamond

SO
Welbeck RVP Januzaj
Mata
Kroos Carvalho?

HAHA I know I am reaching it but at least Mata in that Diamond!

what do you think

One thing I didn't like is that Welbeck earned that penalty and Rooney scored it,maybe it's time to give some chance to the young lads from time to time.

"Chicharito did more in 30 minutes than Wayne Rooney in 90 minutes"

Not a big fan of the two but I thought Rooney scored 2, Tested the goalkeeper numerous times.Ping pong passes in the second half. Hernandez on the other hand.. hmm didn't he missed that glorious chance to put us 5-0?

Just curious because it sounds odd, you seem very knowledgeable, so please educate me.

Having seen the replays, Hernandez and Welbeck's movement off the ball are just amazing.

It'll really be a shame if Hernandez leaves though.

And now some fans say Moyes didnt get enough time to implement his sistem. He needs 2-3 years hahaaha give me a brake. If you know your job, players can see that right now, not for 3 years.
I hope Giggs wont get a job, but learn from LVG and other good managers and train some club and show what he is doing, and then get a chance, when he deserve it.

Glad the negativity is out,hopefully for ever. What an atmosphere at Old Trafford! Yes it was only poor Norwich, but you could see a huge difference in attitude.

Lets enjoy this and then beat fucking Sunderland in a similar way! I will never forget Sunderland's fans on that fateful day celebrating Shittys win! If they go down, it will make up to a point for our own disappointment!

If we had little bit smarter manager, we could catch 5th place, maybe 4th. Everton lost today, and we lost twice against them. If you can t beat your ex team than you are not class.

@tYwinn

IF you can come here with a straighface and claim Rooney played well, the nI can put my hands up.

Rooney scored a penalty in his firs t45 minutes, otherwise his wooden foot let him down

Second half MUCH MUCH better, scored a beautiful goal and played better,

Juan Mata comes in and scores in 12 minutes 2 goals and his spanish foot does not let him down.
Chicharito comes in for the last 20 minutes, moves like a speedter, creates opportunities, goas 1-1 against players and YES misses one chance, which is a shame for him and us.

SO can you tell me please what did Rooney do, if you don't count the misplaced passes, penalty goal, wooden foot, reckless playing etc?

rooney played better in the second half as did the whole team. players passing then moving into space instead of covering space. keeping their foot on the pedal. actually glad norwich didnt get a deserved red for stopping a goal scoring opportunity so they got shellaced with a full team. same team who pushed pool to 3-2 last week didn't get a sniff today. Don't think we need as many players as the media are making out. they need attacking football like today. As Giggs , said we have to play to United standards

Gonna be one hell of an interesting summer, hope the club makes some sound decisions!!!
LVG? Giggs? Maybe new mngr will be afraid of Giggsys influence and won't want him around. After one game against relegation fodder can't judge too much , but admit it u all, we liked what we saw and Giggd and Scholes looked Great in the dug out.

Ps. Long time reader brand new poster, live in Victoria Canada, only been to one game, ( friendly in Toronto against Celtic, but I am red through and trough since 99' when Dwight Yorker stole my heart from hockey with his beautiful smile!! First game I ever saw was our boys against the dippers at their place, we won and I've never been the same...Love my massive red tribe!!! Not even worried about this season. We were crippled by a fool....I look forward.....thanks

@unitedyankey

we need to get 2 CM's DEFINITELY!

then a LB DEFINITELY

and then maybe a winger if Reus comes available and as much as I love Kagawa but if we can swap him for Reus I'll do it immediatelly, BUt this is not footie manager so we ned at least 3-4 players

LVG is ruthless, no mercy...when he comes i hope Young, Valencia and others will be gone, coz i cna t read/listen about those two guys and Clev. And he will show Rooney his place.

I think the problem is that United suddenly has too many "number 10" type players. Kagawa, Mata, Januzaj, and maybe Rooney and Lingard. That's 5 players for 1 position.

Of course, this all depends on how we're going to play and set up tactically in the future. It's possible to play with 2 "number 10"s but that would mean sacrificing someone on the flanks or up front, and we already sort of have too many strikers if we're going to play continental style with only one recognised out and out striker.

WeAreUnitedd April 26, 2014
@Marko it is clear as a day that he's ruthless and the likes of young and unfortunately cleverley will be gone.

H plays 433 as I said and he ptus Sneijder in the top of the diamond which will belong to Mata as he can do everything out there

anyway, it would be good to see him here for 2-3 years and after that Pep Klopp OR Giggsy IF and only IF he manages the reserves and does there something like Guardiola did with Barcelona B.

anyway, can't wait for that to happens.-

I saw crazy articles that we need 6-8 players and all our players are crap. Yes we need help in CM and prob LB maybe CB. But this is the team who dominated last year. "He who must not be named" fucked up our whole season but an attack minded manager with a history of winning things can get more milage out of this squad with the additions you talked about and get us competing again.

@Dev that s why we need world class manager, someone who can sort things out. Mo didn t know what to do with Modric and Alonso together, then Isco...than came Ancelotti and sort it.

@MarkoMaric

I agree,Van Gaal is very tough and brutal honest,I think that Rooney will need to earn a spot like everybody else in the team next summer .

The only thing that worries me is that Van Gaal and Van Persie are very good friends,I just hope this doesn't evolve in more privileges for RVP,just like happened with Rooney this season.

Actually rooney was completely shit in the first half, the penalty was decent but apart from that be did'nt do shit.
After half time he was prob told by giggsy to start on the wing and cut inside( made easier by the fact that norwich were'nt really attacking) where his atrocious first touch did'nt cost is much. He played much better after that and scored a good goal with kags operating in the hole and welbz streching the defence upfront.

Marko Maric,

That's is a good point about Modric. It looked like he'd be disposed off like the liks of Snejider and van der Vaart, but he's now probably a key player alongside Alonso in midfield.

Interesting times we live in, nonetheless.
