Our midfield been totally humbled by Kroos, Modric and Casemiero...Our center backs were lost and Matic came for rescue in more than one scenarios, no connection between Miki and Luka... first half to forget

Yh.. goal looked offside to me..
Maybe I'm just annoyed that we're not winning but I don't like this 1 bit.. we're getting battered.. it's like men v boys..
Nobody has been good enough.. a couple seemed decent, no comment on DeGea and Matic has been good but aside from that not really happy.. Lukaku seems like he's all Brawns and no brains.. and it's not just because of the chance he cost us (although that really helped Lol).. even the commentator was saying he needs to switch on..

I'm just annoyed Lol.. I'll change once we've won! Cmon lads let's make the second half ours!

Lingard off for Martial please. The threat Martial provides is unique in our team. I just can't see why he's constantly being overlooked for players who offer very little going forward. The game is still up for grabs but our performance was quite awful. I'm disappointed!

It's obviously because he doesn't show any enthusiasm for defensive work..
Although I disagree, you have to admit the boss has a right to use his tactics as much as we protest..
MobiMulla August 8, 2017
Matic was the signing I was least excited about but I can see the difference he brings and he's been our best player so far..

The problem with our playing style of conceding possession is there's always a 50/50 chance of us going behind and when we do the opposition are already comfortable in possession and running us ragged whilst we chase them down..

Only positive is we're playing the European champions so it can only get easier from here onwards I presume..

Too easy.We have no midfield at all.
Looks like we need to spend more money insanity.
No worries here's Fellani.

Like seriously, Fellaini coming on for Herrera with 0:2. With all the respect for Fella, what is he supposed to do against Madrid's midfield?

Pogba never turns up in really Big games.

Lukaku took his time and buried the equaliser. He will be an amazing signing bcos he learns from his mistakes and he does so quickly.

Lets try and snatch this game or loose trying.

We've been batterred in midfield by Real so far.And Smalling have been invisible. Hope the players show some heart and make this look like a competitive match. Think about what would have happened to those players at half time if Sir Alex was in charge.

This is all too familiar.....

How much spent and we cannot even keep the fucking ball or find a team mate or pass and move with the ball with any purpose or guile.

Forget that this is pre-season, there are light years between the abilities of these two squads. Despite the fact that these two teams have probably cost a similar amount to assemble there is something major missing. This United team could spend the next 10 years bedding in, there still would be zero coherence or identity to our play.

Matic and De Gea are the only two who look comfortable at this level.

Pogba once gain goes hiding and completely flatters to deceive.

Still massive amounts of work to do, far too many players starting and in the squad who need shipping out.

Again, I realise that this is still pre-season but why are we on the cusp of a new season with so much work still to do??? Another season and still no signs of an identity or playing philosophy.....

1st half we got killed, looked like the second was headed that way till Fellaini came on he made a difference.
Matic looks good,Lindof was better the weakest link was Pogba again I keep hearing how good he is and how he going to come good, when what has he offered us since he arrived?

Lol Fellaini actually did the job. Matic was a professor for us and Rashford was absolutely electric despite the miss.

MobiMulla August 8, 2017
Right.. enough is enough.. Jose needs to grow a pair and drop Pogba.. pair Herrera and Matic and play MMM together..

Seems a total repetition of last season..
Miss a lot of easy chances (Lukaku, Pogba, Lukaku, Rashford),
Pogba disappears agaisnt a big team, not that he always turns up against the small ones,
Play defensive football without actually defending (as Zana says)..

MobiMulla August 8, 2017
Yeah Rashford was good but he had to bury that chance, same with Pogba and Lukaku or else we're just going to go through the same thing as last season..

i cant still understand our philosophy going forward. It seems officially what we can do to fight our way back when we are loosing is fellani.I cant just believe mourinho ignored both mata and martial. If u dont trust them sell both and get a 'better' replacement....pissed off*

Disappointed in the initial set up, we invited Real Madrid to pin us back playing with 5 at the back. Not until, dare I say it, brought on felliani and rashford did we look like a much better team. Learn the lesson Jose, be braver it will pay off!!!!! We have the players just go for it man!

Tactics, midfield, movement, decision making, tracking their runners and finishing were pretty poor tonight!

There is still a lot to do before we can have a proper team again.

Offside goal or not, the fascist team were better tonight!

And then the realisation hits......

1. we're not good enough

2. Pogba still needs to keep it simple

3. Rashford is still maturing ..

4. DeGea is the best goalkeeper

5. Fellaini is our best player when we're against all odds and he's our worst when odds are in our favour...

6. Mourinho needs to be braver against quality opposition

7 Mhiki is class

8 Bailly is crucial, Lindeloff looks average ( early days)

Mourinho will not get us to the next level. Spend all the money you want but it still won't change a thing. Or are we still suffering from Moyes/ LVG negative football? Yes that might be it.We need another 5 years to get it out our system. Disappointment aside hope this spurs the team on. Real business starts this weekend

In the first 60 minutes we were total rubbish, lacked heart and desire needed for such a big game and were lucky to stay in the game. After the goal though the players stepped up a bit and gave Real a game. Rashford did okay but I would have had Martial in his place. He would have caused more problems for Carvajal on that wing and would have scored that chance which fell to Rashford. Our midfield was non existant throughout the game. Even Herrera was having an off day and Pogba wasn't mentally ready which is unacceptable. I just looked at his body language and compared him to that of Modric or Isco. He has to get his act together for the coming season.

Personally think anything other than a solid consistent title charge in the PL plus a cup triumph or two would put Jose's job under threat.

a Top2 club showed us what we lack on being a top 5-6 team in the world.
we still lack players of that calibre. but thank goodness we're slowly getting them and it will eventually turn better.

we had the chance to equalise and make it 2-2, so it's not tht we didn't have our chance but it seemed we couldn't create shit.

it's clear Micky is class but the man needs to keep the ball better, the young lion Marcus showed how amazing he is and Lukaku took his goal well although he is no Ibra on creating chances and keeping the ball. the midfield wasn't that bad, Herrera was disappointing, Matic ok and Pogba ok.
the defence was shambles apart from TonyV.

anyway. heads up. the season starts on sunday. no need to bury our heads.

LETS GO!

the midfield wasn't that bad**

SORRY.

meant to say. LOL the midfield was that bad
denislawking August 8, 2017
Not much has changed really - can't finish, can't cross or take free-kicks.

The scoreline flattered to deceive. We weren't/aren't in the same class but we probably cost as much money as them.

Matic looked very comfortable. DDG his usual self although I thought he should have come for the crosses on their first two chances.

We can certainly lump it up to the big guys now. The problem is, we can rarely get past the first defender with the service!

The good news is we can get better - and we were playing RM - If we don't beat WHU I'll be worried.

we are losing , instead of bringing in effective players in martial and mata, mou brought in lord fellaini. I can't just comprehend how our manager's brain think...its embarrassing. after martial's great performance against Madrid in preseason, he couldn't even get into the team the whole 90mins. sell him , and watch him become like De bruyne or lukaku, and we will buy him back for £100mil. mourinho has a problem of nurturing young talents, I swear I'm pissed off. I've always defended him, but this romance with fellaini might spell his doom.

what we needed in the game was create chances. why bring in fellaini when your team can't create chances ? is fellaini the best passer or a dribbler to create chances?? I don't even know how our manager reasons at times. its appallingly in the first place that a club of our stature is harbouring such a player. if I were martial... "enough is enough". I'll gladly hand in a transfer request than staying on the bench and watching fellaini and lingard get nod to start ahead of him.

I think Martial needs to save his career by moving on. If he was in any doubt about Jose's intension for him this season, then he has gotten an emphatic answer. Being left to rout on the bench, even after fallen behind by two goals to the virus. To say I am disappointed in Mourinho is an understatement, I'm absolutely mad at him.

After spending hundreds of millions, our team still looks anything but a team. Yes, it hurts, but my anger is not really about the defeat but mostly because of the shameful performance we put out there tonight. There's no shame in the Europa winners losing to the champions of Europe but a Manchester united team must always show the true spirit of the club. Failing to spring a few easy passes together, not tracking runners in our box, or failing to win enough fifty-fifty balls are things that are completely unacceptable for a man united team. It's acceptable to lose to a team as good as Real but failing to do the basic things is unforgivable.

Ed and directors at United ought to be embarrassed by how badly things have turned out since Sir. Alex retired. Not being able to transform the club huge financial might in to a great winning machine on the pitch is sad. Many bad recruitment decisions have led to our current state.

Mirain August 9, 2017
Had we won this match I'm sure one or two would've said "we are getting the treble".

Real Madrid are simply light years ahead. I never expected anything less than what they did tonight. I know we are a long way away from the likes of Madrid. This is why results don't really bother me as much as everyone else. It's always performance for me. We cannot perform for shit when it matters. Simply because we have the wrong tactics. Wrong selection. Wrong mentality. That's why I said recently I don't see us anywhere near the title race.

We have he exact same problems from last season. Same coach equals same tactics and same favorite players. As I predicted, only one of MMM can play if at all. So sell the other two for crying out loud. If Martial's role at United is to just be the cliche frustrated figure, then what are we doing? Did he sleep with a relative of Mourinho so he has to get punished? Release the kid and let more useful people handle him. Mata at least has had a career worth talking about. How the fuck does Martial sit for 90 minutes and Lingard plays against Madrid? Are you fucking kidding me? Expect more of the same this season. Shit football. Shit team selections. Shit tactics. And other such frustrating shit.
