After losing their hero, Fernando Torres, to Chelsea, it looks as though Pepe Reina is interested in jumping ship and joining the team at the top of the league.
“Yes, well Van der Sar will hang up his gloves in the summer so of course they are looking,” Reina told Spanish radio station Ondo Sera. “I can’t do anything. I can’t say anything logically as I have a contract with Liverpool. Of course one likes to fight for titles and be in a team that does that. We always fought to be in the Champions League and try to win the title. But unfortunately it hasn’t been the case in the last couple of years.”
With Liverpool looking to miss out on Champions League football again this season, the keeper has reiterated his desire to play at the top level
“I won’t lie, I want to play in the Champions League and challenge for titles,” added Reina.
Whilst it’s nice to see a player interested in joining United, I do wonder whether he’s the man for the job. He’s a good keeper but he hasn’t proven himself to be a great keeper. On his side he has the fact he’s got plenty of Premiership experience and at 28, still has plenty of years ahead of him.
