The statistics don’t make pretty viewing for Liverpool fans, with their last home league win against us taking us as far back as 2001, whilst their last league goal against us came in 2004, and that was a John O’Shea own goal.
Two of the many recent United victories have come through last minute goals, with Rio popping up in front of the Stretford End and John O’Shea scoring in front of the Kop. Liverpool fans will grumble about their recent poor fortune against us.
However, Jamie Carragher doesn’t agree, claiming United have deserved our results against them.
“I’m not a great believer in being lucky or unlucky,” said Carragher. “I’m a big believer in ‘you get what you deserve’. United over the last few years have probably edged it with us and small details in football make a difference. That’s why they’ve been better than us and that’s something we need to liven up.”
I’m not entirely sure what’s going on, but I’m starting to see more sense from the supposed ‘Mr Liverpool’ all the time recently.
He used to cheer for Everton whilst in Liverpool’s academy, he loves Fergie ‘the master’, and now he acknowledges we’ve been better than them for years.
What the hell is going on??
