Manchester United lost 2-0 to PSG last night after individual errors lead to goals. The first goal was conceded when Phil Jones was outmuscled and David de Gea came rushing out of his goal, only to watch the ball roll in past him.

Louis van Gaal has conceded that the situation with Real Madrid is not ideal, with the club seemingly refusing to let De Gea leave if Sergio Ramos isn’t going to come in the opposite direction.

We have a situation that is not favourable for David de Gea but neither for us and the club [Real Madrid]. Maybe he wants to go too. I cannot say he was poor in this game, only that he made a mistake. That’s not poor. Everybody can make mistakes but when a goalkeeper makes a mistake it is mostly a goal and that’s the difference.
