Federico Macheda’s goal yesterday would have seen us remain top of the league with five games to go, had the linesman got to Specsavers and noticed Didier Drogba was a good yard offside when scoring Chelsea’s winner.

Our young striker is pleased to have played, after returning from a lengthy spell out with injury, and is eyeing more appearances in the remaining games of the season.

“As a striker, it’s always good to score, but it would have been better if we’d have won the game,” said Macheda. “We are very disappointed, but there are still five games left and we are ready to play those games. I hope to be involved in the upcoming matches – I’ve had a few injuries this season and been out for a good few months. But I’m pleased to be back now.”
