Jose Mourinho has given an exclusive interview with United We Stand, a Manchester United fanzine, where he has tackled the rumours that he’s unhappy living in Manchester.

Having spent several years living in London with his family, he’s not living at a hotel in Manchester, and the press has reported he’s not having a great time. Mourinho has taken the opportunity to dismiss these rumours.

I’m happy that you give me a chance to speak and to reproduce my words. For me as a manager, London, Milan, Madrid, Manchester, Beijing or Shanghai is the same. I don’t go to cities or enjoy cities, I go to cities to work, to be a football manager. I go to make people happy. In this case, the percentage of people that is Man United, like in Madrid the percentage of people that is Real. I go to work, that’s my job. If I wanted to enjoy places I would go to Los Angeles Galaxy and go to the beach every day. I’m here to do what I’m doing. I’m here to arrive at the training ground at 8am and leave the training ground on a normal day at six o’clock. Then I leave, have dinner and rest.

To give people this idea that I’m not happy here but I was in happy in London… I don’t know if you can’t write what I will say, but this is bullshit! Total bullshit!

To give you an idea, my family are in London because my daughter is at university. She is 20 and my son plays for Fulham, studies in Fulham’s academy and he’s 17. I cannot demand that they follow me, they have their lives and they’re at the age where they want to fly.

Now is my time to be even more focussed on football, but one day a week – when I can and at the moment it’s difficult with all the games – I go to London to have dinner with the family. This is not because I’m unhappy here, it’s because this is my new life.
