Jamie Carragher, who is described on Liverpool FC’s official website as “Mr Liverpool“, has today revealed that if he isn’t offered a new deal at the end of next season when his current contract expires, he won’t be bothered.
“The club will give me a new contract if they want to,” said Carragher. “If not it doesn’t matter, I’ll still play my best and if I have to move then I’ll move, no problem. It wouldn’t bother me. I made the England decision quickly and didn’t dwell on it, and I’m not scared of making big decisions.”
Carragher, who grew up a massive Everton fan and even when playing for Liverpool’s youth team, hoped for a blue win when the two teams met in the league, is often compared to our legends, like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville.
On the weekend that Scholesy scores his 100th league goal and puts us top of the league, it’s quite amusing that Liverpool’s so-called equivalent confirms he’s not arsed about staying at Liverpool for his entire career.
