I agree. World class performance from him today, and proved all doubters wrong including myself!

Best game for us yet ( but not by far )

He has been awesome for the last few weeks and although it's early days if he carries on with this form we won't miss Ronaldo too much afterall.

He is undoubtedly talented and has potential to be world class.

So great to see Nani today - clearly playing with confidence now. Apart from the magic of his own goal, it was great to him running full speed to set up Rooney for his goal. This is just what I have missed after Ronaldo left - going full speed ahead, creating space and chaos in the opponent's defence.

And Rooney - already a legend.

Even Park had a decent game - I would never have trusted him to finish that run with a goal, and Arsenal's defenders clearly didn't either.

What a week we've had!

Another convincing performace. Park was a little quiet on the other side in the first half, primarily because we could rely on Nani so much on the right. Brilliant.

He's done himself and the club proud today - it's been a long time coming but he's finally stepping up to the plate and showing what he can do - would Nani have been given this much time at any other club in England? - I doubt it - just goes to show that United have the right approach to youth development - the club likes to bring them on slowly and encourage them to fight for their opportunity to shine!

I have to admit - I have a grudging admiration for Arsenal's focus on youth - but I just feel that United get the balance right between youth and experience (Giggsy is old enough to Raphael's father!)

nanis major problem, which was put apon him by other, is living in ronaldos shadow and how he had to instantly be a carbon copy of ronaldo
everyone, even little old 14stone me, did this
it was hope and excitement that spured it on i believe
but that talk has to stop for the good of the player ........................
But
How much did the boy look like Ronaldo today
Unreal
Sir Alex said after the game he hopes arsenal Batter Chelsea next weekend
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgXeTgUb96o
its funny hearing it
but i think there may be mind games in it for arsenal to batter them. why would sir alex say something like that if he didnt believe arsenal still had a shot of the title, if little old 2stone 10 overweight me(fuck you wii fit) picked up on that then arsenal players would of to, which spurs them on and gives them more of a chance to batter chelsea

Fantastic performance from Nani in the first half; he was quieter after the re-start but, then, he could have scored two more in the 80-90 minutes !

He's playing with great determination and letting his talent flow; not so nervous about making mistakes and then getting crucified for them. I'd like to see him kept on the right and see how Valencia can do on the left - as I've written before - anyone who plays in front of Patrice Evra is not going to be the so-called winger but, rather, a left-inside.

The other thing to note about today's performance is that even without the first-choice central defensive pairing, TheArse (let's not forget, they ARE the EPL's highest-scoring team) were kept on the periphery. I thought that until the last ten minutes that Jonny Evans was fantastic and Raphael largely kept to his defensive role - however, he did get skinned by being out of position for their only goal that deflected in off Evans.

Finally, playing with the three midfielders seemed to give the forwards more confidence - especially WayneRooney who only once was in his own penalty area. Mostly Rooney played centrally and forward AND very, very well, indeed. This makes me wonder if a formation with Nani on the right, Valencia on the left and Rooney through the middle - with three midfielders - might not be the strongest way to deploy the available talent.

We all knew he had the talent, it was a matter of getting consistency and delivering when it mattered... he seems to be doing that now. And that has given him and us the confidence. I hope he keeps it going - he will be a great weapon to have as the title race heats up.

And I'm glad that we are hitting some good form as a team now... crucial matches coming up.

nani has always had the talent but lacked a bit of confidence. He has shown it occasionally like the 4-0 hammering of Arsenal in the FA Cup.The difference is he now has the belief that he can make it big at United. He is making the correct decisions, running at defenders and crossing the ball well.

An example. The 2nd goal today. had this been the Nani of 3-4 months before he would have tried to go himself or passed it to the wrong person. Not now though, he looks a different Nani

This was his best game for United. Clichy is way better than any of the left backs of Hull or Burnley and has had Ronaldo in his pocket almost everytime. Nani ripped him apart especially in the first half today.

Every person on this site that has been slating the kid for the past two years, who have been sharpening the sword and catcalling his every misstep, rightly put both feet in your mouths, and leave them there.

He was class beyond class today, mouthwatering performance. his vision, which has been ridiculed time and time again, was incredible, his pace and trickery unstoppable, he was absolutely perfect today.

And for those who ask-why we bought our new "unknown" defender, maybe you guys just don't know enough. Period.

God I love this club.

what have they been feeding nani for the last few weks. he looks a completely different player. full of confidence and much better intelligence. these were the 2 main things lacking in his game. he was looking down and out a few weeks ago. it will really be an amazing turnaround if he continues like this.

Hi all. First ever comment. Close follower of ROM for about a year. love and appreciate the hard work you put in Scott. Nani was simply explosive today really hope he can keep this level of performance up for the remainder of the season. Also I think his ability to open up defences with cute passes and through balls is often overlooked. See Owens goal against Wigan early in the season, pass to fletcher last week against shitty in the run up to Carricks goal and Rooneys goal today. This is an attribute he displayed regularly in his debut season. What do you guys think

I'm not sure what SAF has said to the boy but it's worked magic! At last we're beginning to see the player he threatened to be after his first season. He has incredible ability, poise & balance and now he is using his brain to make intelligent passes and runs and putting an end product to his sublime skill & pace! I pray to the Lord Cantona that this becomes the norm and he is consistant because this couldn't come at a more poignant time and could shape the rest of our season! It's like we've signed a new player in the jan window! Nantastic!

GHTT - cheers mate!

I think Nani has also put his good form down to Sir Alex handling of him over the past month.

Another point - what the hell has happened to Ando? November and december he was looking so sharp even earning the praise of sir alex. today He wasn't even in the squad to get a chance to shit on fabregas. Hope he pulls up his socks as Nani recently appears to have done.

ok i was wrong about him, past 3 matches he's play he's been superb and that celebration said it all, clearly delighted bit more consistancy and i'll have no qualms with him, and he's even tracking back and helping with the defense. Clearly the "out in the cold" treatment worked or is it he's been playing on his favoured side....either way keep it up

He comes across really well in the interview, a humble and a bit shy. He has the character to be a United player, and today he showed the skill and composure to take it to the next level. We need a chant for him quick fast....

hahaha @ "that my best game"

lol

I knew he was gonna be man of the match and I feared for the lad doing the interview afterwards. lol. Jokes aside, the lads pure class, he's only 23, and he can only get better. I read alot of so called supporters talk a bunch of SHIT on here and elsewhere about him. makes me wonder how qualified some of you are to give an informed opinion on your own team. Even when he wasn't performing for us he was performing for his country and played a huge role in getting them qualified. He just needed time, Anderson is no different. So thank fuck Alec has the skill to get the best from his young players. Im just suprised so called fans doubted that....

Anyway, I just hope VALENCIA doesn't become the target of the negativity thats lifted from Nani. Two weeks ago alot of "supporters" wanted Nani taken out back and shot in the head, now he's "class" and "amazing" ... to me ALL our players are quality otherwise they wouldn't be here, SO STOP MOANING AND SUPPORT THE CLUB !!!! Us having 2 quality right wingers is a blessing, plus they can both play in other positions, so get behind Nani and Valencia !!! Alec is nobodies Fool....

Paul Parker - he was shit. He dud deserve to be shipped out pronto on the Nani-wagon. He cocked up time and time again.

But he got not shit, and quick. We were all qualified because we're fans of our club, no one bar one person is above criticism, but never before have I seen someone go from infuriating to watch to Premiership creme de la creme after coming back from such an absence

Nani, I applaude you for humbling yourself and knuckling down

Valencia is still a good player, surely he will get games too, its about the squad, I feel fergie will also try nani on the left at times, especially against weaker teams...

nb surely Obertan is a long way of being a first team player

Haf this boy in my fantasy team very early in the season because I had a feeling he'd be very important for us this season.
Obviously I had to replace him with Valencia when the latter hit top form and Nani was not playing due to injury and inconsistency. And indeed he has been very important in perhaps the two most important games of the season and I have to agree that he is like a new signing! And an exciting one as well!
So come on Nani! Take us to the trophies..Am not getting carried away. I was realistic to a point where I was starting to save to pay up my bets for the season. But this week our United has been resurrected!
We must have sent a message to Rent Boys and Milan!
Glory Glory Man United!

P.S. i have re-added Nani in my fantasy team. Hope he takes me to the fantasy league title as well ;o)

nani is now really showing his talent.i think now fergie should play him regularly.if nani gets drop even for one game his form dips.he should play in every game.the thing that is bothering me is about valencia.i would like to see both valencia and nani play together.valencia has been good for us this season and it would be unfair if he is not in the startingXI.
UNITED FOREVER.

it really feels like a new signing, not only is the team more confident I for one had some reservations as to whether we could pull off the league this season....now perhaps who knows. Well done Nani lad and thank you for giving us something to smile about in a turbulent time at our club

@Always be Closing

Difference of Opinion Mate. Cos I've never thought he was "shit" and when the "Anti Nani Brigagde" was at its height he was actually playing Brilliantly for his country helping them qualify without Ronaldo. So clearly he was never shit. His main problem was the quality of his delivery into the box for UTD, he was always the final part of a move or the one taking corners for us so it was easy to isolate his performace. Funnily enough, whenever he had a match where he under performed the REST of the team wasn't up to much either. But Nani took the most criticism cos its a story the papers could run with. the same papers who labelled him Ronaldos successer despite having no where near the same games under his belt. Nani is more mature now like Alec said. he'll only get better. So Shit ? Never. But Inconsistant ? Yes.

...
its like when people were caling Tevez shit and not a natural goalscorer before he left us. Some people just don't know what the fuck they're talking about. Look at him now. If Berbatov left in January I bet he'd score a bunch of goals wherever he went too. Rooney isn't even immune from being called shit if he goes on a dry run of goals. look at the start of the season, some "fans" were screaming for a new striker because some doubted he could replace Ronaldo's goals. fucking jokers with no faith in their own club. Do some of our players underperform at times ? Yes, but are they Shit ? Come on. Nani was never shit, he was immature, inexperienced and inconsistant...but shit ? the lads shown his class from day one IMO.

@Corea

I just try to be positive about our players because chances are they do turn it around when given time. I even think Veron and Forlan would have been more consistant with more time. call me an optimist. lol. the MEDIA SLATED both those players just because Alec doesn't have many things he can be slated about. they'll often look for stories that ain't there and some fans feed into that. Berbatov is obviously a little different cos he's much older then our young players coming thru and he's played very well in the PL before. His expectations are higher. Im patient with the youngsters but Berb does raise my blood pressure like when he came on and fucked up his clear chance on goal with a heavy touch. I was fucked off with that yesterday I can't lie. But I still openly back him to turn it around in Europe. I get your point tho, Two Sides of the same coin aye ?

Paul Parker - to be fair we have to back the players when they are in deep shit. But we just try to be cautios and write neutral posts.
It is that much easier to come up with something really aggressive and straightforward. Anyway i found smth really new and fresh in your upper post and it is good to see. ;)
