Manchester United midfielder Nemaja Matic has been reported to have sent a direct and clear message to his current team regarding his future and a potential move.
The Serbian midfielder, who was formerly regarded to be out of favour in the eyes of United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has been putting up impressive performances for the club lately.
The 31-year-old midfielder’s contract is set to expire by the end of the season but reports have it that he is willing to come to an understanding for a new agreement with United.
Recently he was interviewed by The Mirror, where the Serbia international claimed that there are already top clubs asking for his signature but his main priority is to remain at Old Trafford.
Matic signed for Manchester United from rival club Chelsea back in the summer of 2017 under the reign of United’s former head coach Jose Mourinho, who is said to be close with the player.
I’m at Carrington every day and open to talk if they think I can help, there have been no talks. Of course I want to stay. It’s a pleasure to represent this club. I came here to win and I’ll give my best to win trophies. I can’t tell you who is asking for me, but when you play for Manchester United, many clubs are looking to sign you. That’s not only me, but it’s also for every player – especially when you’re out of the contract. My first option is Manchester United, but if they decide something else then there are always solutions.
With all these said it still remains a mystery as to what plans United’s manager Solskjaer have for the Serbian midfielder or maybe the club itself but as Matic is already 31-year-old player, the club might not be willing as they are much keen on developing the young generations but slot online have some interesting odds regarding the midfielder’s future at the Old Trafford.
In other news, Turkish giants Fenerbahce has reportedly turned down United’s offer for their prolific striker Vedat Muriqi which is according to a Turkish outlet Fotospor.
The report has it that the Turkish club had turned an offer said to be £21.1million from the Premier League giants.
The Old Trafford outfit is currently struggling with the decline in their final third following the injury key player Marcus Rashford succumbed to which will keep him on the sidelines for a long while, but the transfer window will soon be closed.
With Rashford injured, the Red Devils now have only Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood to trust for the striker position, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer himself would’ve loved to bring in a new signing to the frontline of the squad.
All the reports stated so far is only the rejection blow Fenerbahce aside from no other reports has been made and from the looks of it, no improved bid has also been made by United.
So far this season, Muriqi has been able to find the back of the net 12 times in 18 Super Lig appearances which earned him a call up to the Kosovo senior team.
