Nev: Fergie Asked Us If We Wanted This League Or Not

Gary Neville has revealed that ahead of kick-off on Saturday, Sir Alex Ferguson questioned the desire of the players to go out and win the league.

United went on to beat City whilst Chelsea lost to Tottenham Hotpsur, putting us within one point of the top.

“The manager asked us if we still wanted to win the championship and we do,” said Neville. “While we still have a chance to win it, we have to go for it. The fundamental thing we have to focus on is winning our remaining three games rather than concerning ourselves with other teams. Too many times this season we haven’t done our job when we have been thinking about possible scenarios in the table. We have to get those points on the board because it doesn’t matter what Chelsea or Arsenal do if we don’t win our games.”

Spent the whole weekend with the Boys watching all the matches as they happened. Surprise Surpise Paul Scholes done it again. We NEEDED him against Wolves and he delivered. We NEEDED him against City and he was there. It was only last week alot of people on here were writing him off. No he can't play as often as he used to, but with a decent midfield both Scholes and Giggs can play on at the highest level, as we've seen this Season already. He looked fresh and lively all game playing deep, controlling our midfield passing like only he can for us at the moment.

Brillant display even tho the game was frustratingly tight at times.

The Tottenham result was just the icing on the Cake. Im sure the Bookies took a BATTERING on Saturday - who would've thought United would win AND Chelsea would lose aye? ;)

I can see us winning everything til the end, but Chelsea? They wont beat Liverpool, and they'll probably drop points against Stoke this weekend without John "Hand of Sod" Terry.

Brilliant weekend.
Even came home and bought the missus some flowers ;)

BTW Gary Neville is soft in the HEAD for that kiss !!!!!! Funniest thing I've seen all Season

I might be sounding stupid and some of you guys may not like my thinking but the story that I read about Mourinho taking over at end of 2010-2011 season and him being already lined up does not seem impossible……. The man has Sir Alex’s winning mentality though he does not have the affection for youth and flowing football…….. Sir Alex has said many times over the past 2-3 years that there will be no way he will still be managing at 70……..

I hope he just lied to us but to me whether its Mourinho or not, we will definitely see Sir Alex, Giggsy, Scholesy, Nev, VDS all go at the same time so that the incoming manager can build the team the way he wants to………

Any thoughts???

I believe we're gonna win the league, so only positive thoughts until the end of the season, Costas and aig, i'm speaking to yous two directly lol. I know it's tough wanting the dippers to win, but silently cheer them on until the seasons over and then we go can back to hating them next season.

Lets be honest sometimes Nev can be a bit of a prick (Iam a UTD fan) but you cant question his commtiment to the cause, how many teams would like thier players to show that much passion for winning, even some of my liverpool loving mates begrugdingly liked it when he ran the length of the pitch to celebrate Rio's winner against them a couple of years ago.

On LFC not trying against Chelsea, it wont come to pass, if they do they cheapen their own record because they'll know (the fans and players) it was the only way they could keep thier record intact, it would be held against them forever. I cant see Benitez rolling over either, he has a job to keep.

I love that our captain is such a fan of United. You can tell that if he wasn't a professional footballer he'd be there on the Stretty every game wearing his green and gold cheering on United!

The boys played as well as if they did want to win the league, it was a brilliant fantastic moment.I can almost hear Sir Alex asking the lads that question, thats motivational indeed.Well done Gary and the lads.
