Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, has claimed that David Beckham will be received warmly by the United fans when the clubs meet in the Champions League tonight.

“I’m sure it will be a special night for him,” said Neville. “He will get a fantastic reception when he returns to Manchester. The fans will remember that he publicly said he doesn’t want to play for any other club in England. He grew up as a Manchester United fan and played so well for the club. Beckham’s presence does not distract from the importance of the match. It’s a good story – he is returning to face us six years after such a good career with Manchester United. But, once the match starts, nobody will be thinking about it. We have played against former team-mates like my brother, Phil, and Nicky Butt, so you get used to it.”
