Gary Neville, who might not even get a place in United’s squad for the European Cup final on Wednesday, has been recalled to the England squad.
With so many of our players fighting it out for a spot on the bench, Neville would surely only get picked for sentimental reasons, as our captain, as a proper red, and as a player who missed out on last season’s final through injury. He hasn’t been great on the few chances he’s had this season, showing he really does have a long way to go to get his level back up to where it needs to be to start for United.
Regardless, this hasn’t stopped Fabio Capello for picking Neville to represent England in their summer World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra.
Do you think Neville should get a place on the bench against Barca though?
