Manchester United have today announced the squad who will be travelling to Thailand and Australia for the pre-season tour.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the most notable absence, who hasn’t returned to Carrington while dealing with a family matter. Speculation has mounted when the legendary forward could be on his way out of Old Trafford, with Chelsea reportedly interested in making a £14m offer. While no official quotes have come from him, sources suggest he doesn’t fancy sticking around and playing in the Europa League next season.

There is a place for several academy players but Charlie McNeill isn’t one of them, much to the disappointment of many fans. The youngster hasn’t been taking part in first team training this summer, unlike some of his Youth Cup winning teammates.

Andreas Pereira, who has just returned from his loan spell in Brazil with Flamengo, has also been given extended break. Reports suggest he may well be signing for Fulham regardless.
