Manchester United star midfielder Paul Pogba is on the brink of reaching an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over personal terms despite the club’s hesitance to let him leave.

According to Canal Supporters (via Daily Express), the Ligue 1 heavyweights have convinced the 28-year-old to move back to his homeland.

After landing the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi, PSG are looking to add another superstar to their star-studded squad, and are a good bet to use your Betfair sign up bonus to back them to win the Ligue title and possibly the Champions League as well.

Pogba has emerged as Mauricio Pochettino’s top target to reinforce the midfield department following an underwhelming season from Ander Herrera and Leandro Paredes.

The Frenchman has reportedly given his consent for a move to the Parc des Princes amid contractual uncertainties at Old Trafford.

Pogba has less than a year left to run on his current deal in Manchester, with no sign of a breakthrough in extension talks on the horizon.

At the moment, the Red Devils want to retain the Frenchman beyond the summer, hoping to convince him to pledge his long-term future to the club next season.

Indeed, the Glazers are hell-bent on keeping hold of the World Cup winner and have slapped a substantial asking price in the region of £62million and £72m on his head.

Despite having just a year left on his contract, the Old Trafford powerbrokers look to recoup most of the £89m they paid to bring Pogba back from Juventus five years ago.

Since returning to the Premier League in 2016, the highly-rated playmaker has blown hot and cold, winning just two trophies, including the Europa League crown under Jose Mourinho back in 2016/17.

However, Pogba has hit a purple patch since recovering from a long-term injury back in March, establishing himself as one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s key players alongside Bruno Fernandes.

The ex-Juventus talisman has peaked in time to soak up the limelight as France’s headline performer at Euro 2020.

Even though the 2018 World Cup winners suffered a shocking exit to Switzerland in the last-16, Pogba was nothing short of outstanding.

If the midfielder decides to sever ties with United, the Premier League giants could reignite their interest in Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

The Englishman had a decent Euro 2020 campaign despite his bit-part role under Gareth Southgate and is currently pursued by Manchester City.

According to various sources, the reigning Premier League champions are front-runners in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

But the Red Devils are not strapped for cash and could compete with cross-town rivals for Grealish’s signature should Pogba departs England in the coming weeks.
