With Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Paul Scholes all missing for our clash against Aston Villa, the last thing we need is Cristiano Ronaldo out of action too. Portugal bosses have insisted his calf injury isn’t anything to worry about, which inspires some confidence, although I’m sure we’ll see just how injured he is if he is to play against Sweden.
On the upside, Ronaldo has been struggling to find form of late and a break might do him good. I’d have rathered that break be brought about because Sir Alex Ferguson had made the choice to bench him, but if Ronaldo does have to sit out for a week, it might do him some good.
