Fair play to the lad. It appeared to me he didnt have the mental strength and character for United. May of course be wrong but thats how I feel. Hope the lad does well up there which I am sure he will.

Think he's probably just found his level at newcastle. Needed to show that he was more that just speed and develop, especially after a poor season in France the year we bought him. Truth is he didnt come on in any way. Good luck to him, he'll need it.

See ya Obertan don't forget with great speed comes great responsibility to pass the ball not just let it go to the opposing team or run into players and get lost for no apparent reason.

Obertan was never a United player sadly. I wish him good luck. If he does the business up there, they'll love him. By happy Gabriel!

As long as he keeps running at Cashley Cole and the rest of 'em muthafuckin full backs,i dont give a flying fuck....He never made the grades at United, and with Young playing very well at the moment,he aint got no chance...

Gabby has something about him that made me feel he might just turn a corner for us. Sadly he might now do that for somebody else, whatever the case good luck lad!!

Sadly for him never made the grade, probably mainly as King Eric said because he didnt have the mental strength to play for Utd. Never looked like he had any self confidence when on the ball when he played for the first team. Always shipped it on, or ran down a blind alley. Good luck to him, but I cant see him regularly playing at Newcastle either to be honest. Atleast he will be on the bench and not in the reserves.

Good luck Gabby! Maybe I'm one of the few that still think he could've made it at Utd if given more opportunities. Oh well, our loss is Newcastle's gain and I'm sure he will prove his quality with more time on the pitch.. just hope this doesn't come back to bite us in the bum.

Without being a cunt but you have to laugh. Do you remember his first touch on his debut at Old Trafford? He dribbled the ball out of play.

Looking at the way Young performed on Sunday, can you blame him for leaving?

Not United standard and never was.

Good luck at the Toon Gabriel.

I see no reason why obertan what to leave.we bought him last two year .gabriel is a good player but he dribbles too much.he suppose 2 stay in man utd 4 trophy instead of thinking of newcastle.

i think i'm the only man utd player who thinks this guys would have been a good player if he was given enough playing time he had the pace and some creativity. wish him the best and trust me he is gonna get better.

I din think he is that bad. Just needed more opportunity in the first team but due to the quality of Park, Nani, Valencia, and Giggs, he din stand a chance. I was hoping he din go, bcos obviously SAF saw something in him. Now with Young and Wellback who can also play in the wing, not forgetting Cleverly, I guess he's made the right move. All the best to him.
