It was announced earlier today that Marcos Rojo is set to rejoin Estudiantes on loan. He centre-back started his club at the Argentine club and after battling against long-term injury and a lack of playing time, he is returning to where it all began after starting just 13 games for us over the past two years.
But before going home, he couldn’t resist the opportunity to sit in the away end to watch United beat City 1-0 at the Etihad this evening.
His current contract runs until 2021 but it’s unknown whether we’ll ever see him in a United shirt again. Still, it’s nice to see his commitment to the cause and keenness to be among the fans, not for the first time. He was spotted in the away end for games against Liverpool and Stoke over the past few years and while he hasn’t always been what we needed on the pitch, his commitment to the club can’t be questioned.
Good luck, Marcos!
