Is there any evidence that Rooney actually submitted a transfer request?
Just asking? Scott, Eric, Costas, anyone?

A new 5 year contract, but ON HOW MUCH? I heard that its 200K a week, that will make him on TWICE AS MUCH as the rest of the squad? SO, what about SAF's famous wage structure?
Has it all gone out of the window now or what? My guess is that Nani and co, the ones actually doing the business on the park will now want a VAST payrise! Wonder where the fckin dosh is goin to come from? Increased ticket prices? Put the price of shirts up? With already diminishing attendances due to the LUHG protests methinks some bloody big cracks are beginning to appear.

King Eric - damn right, look at keane he was outspoken and he publicly criticised players when they did not do well. He delayed contract talks in late 98 when we supported him through his knee injury. He has signed a new deal and if we sign some good players in the next phew windows we will know rooney has given the club a kick up the backside its needed. He said what everyone was saying the club should have been strengthening the squad. He fucked up lets move on and win this damn title, thats a start

@FletchTHEMAN

Nah, I don't think that's the case. it's just that once he refused the contract offer, we had to think about selling him.

@costas

there was a deal on the table whenever Wayne left,whether he would be sold or leave for free in 2012. Rooney possibly felt last night money isnt everything or maybe adebayor scoring the hat trick made him rethink.lol

He didn't put in a transfer request, but he told SAF he wanted out. That's pretty clear to me.

@AIG

Haha. Yeah that's it. I find it hillarious that City would make the offer for anytime anyplace. Doesn't matter if Rooney would have been washed up by the time he got there. All that matters to them is putting one over us. This is what it feels to be City.

willierednut - yea it was pretty clear, but if all this pain and craziness ends up united strengthening the squad in the next 2 windows on the area's that is needed I am glad this happened. Sometimes someone working for the club of the influence rooney has got. has to stand up and tell the clubs owners exactly what all the fans have been thinking. STRENGTHEN THIS FUCKING SQUAD

Colbert, Willie, Thanks for that. Agreed, the lad is a slimy c*nt. But for heavens sake, it looks like he is our C*nt for now.
Guess I am a pathetic twit. Just looking for some positives to throw back at the opposition when they start giving the piss. At least we could be Liverpool or the Arse, their captains put in transfer requests.

no matter what happens we can claim a moral victory by getting him to sign this contract. and morals are what this club is based on. i have to admit i was scared that we would end up losing wayne and getting nothing out of it, but now i am convinced that not only does it not matter so much if we lose wayne at the end of the season, but i also think we have money to spend on players (something i always thought was an empty promise). if wayne stays at united for another few years then this whole saga will have changed the footballing world. player wages, player loyalties, fan power, respect for this great club, everything. just you wait and see.

What you do not see in the picture is knife that rooney has on Sir Alex Ferguson's back. But if the entire picture was printed you would see that Sir Alex Ferguson has a knife on rooneys nuts

Yes, he's our cunt for now. What I want now, is all this shit to calm down and get back to playing football, starting with Stoke. I want the players to go out on Sunday and give everything for that badge, because the last few games have been lackluster, to say the least.

willierednut - he has acted like a cunt but I am landed we have players like rooney who want to be the best and are outspoken. That is how keane done it, when he thought quality was lacking he was not afraid to say what he thinks. Rooney is not a yes man he wants the best, still what rooney is done is a fart in a hurricain is nothing what keane has done at OT in terms of being outspoken.

As a United fan I am disappointed that the best player on the team thought about leaving, and I now know that he does not love United in the same way as Neville, Giggs, Scholes, etc. But that's fine, he's not required to do so.

He was negotiating with the only real leverage that he had, and calling him a traitor cunt (even if he wanted to leave) is ridiculous. Are all fans so naive that they think players feel the same way about the club as the die-hard supporters? This is Wayne's professional life; he was negotiating for more money, and he was considering switching companies. Any employee is entitled to do the same.

@ Everybody

Guys I’ve read now in a couple of credible places that over the past few days, Collete McLoughlin, Colleens mother made it clear that she wanted Colleen and Kai in Britain.

That is why the deal with Real was never going to happen. Chelsea would not have met wage demands and United would not have sold to them. His only other choice of City was blocked because his sponsors made it clear that since City do not have a global fanbase and that there would be severe drop in earnings from image rights for Wayne. Also the 30 guys and the death threats played their part.

He, rather they, have chosen a pay rise at United and will now make attempts to rescue their image. These developments have happened against the will of Paul Stretford. Rooney last night instructed him that he would sign with United and he blames Stretford for the PR disaster.

Also his new contract comes with assurance with the Glazers with regard to a specific minimum dollar amount of money spent on transfers and also assurance that SAF will continue on for a few years.

There are some fans here who believe that Rooney will be sold later and this is just a stop gap arrangement. But the club would then not have made a statement saying that Rooney will have been a United player for 11 years when his new deal expires.

In all of this, the only guys laughing are Sir Alex, the Glazers and David Gill. The simple reason is that Sir Alex got his player. MUST and Red Knights have egg on their faces because Rooney has clearly said that the new deal has been brokered with a big contribution by the Glazers. David Gill has shown that guys like Paul Stretford are no match for his deal making skills.

The team has also been galvanised and they will also want to prove a point so we may see some world beaters emerge from the current crop. In all of this it is believed in media circles that Sir Alex’s interview on MUTV specifically turned the tide. Rooney wanted to go making the manager and owners look bad. That was never going to happen after the interview.

Rooney was hoping that United would keep everything under wraps like with the Tevez situation. He still cannot believe that SAF went public. In fact, at the time the statement was aired, he, Paul Scholes and Ricky Hatton were enjoying a dinner at a place near where Scholes lives. In all his post signing statements he has said it became difficult for him after it became public knowledge. Clearly he means the things he was agreeing with city were disrupted. In the end, he had no other alternative to make good with United.

If you want further proof he has said in his statement that he is signing with the belief that staff, management, owners will strive to keep United tradition of winning alive. This statement reeks of conditionality.

Finally and most hilariously, City are along with Stretford the biggest losers in all of this as they had clear plans to use Rooney to build a global fan base. They were actually stunned when the SAF press conference happened. They also felt that they had an agreement in principle with Rooney and he has now backtracked.

So once again,

WE ARE UNITED AND WE WILL NEVER DIE!!!!!

this aint the end of it all, rooney gets treated like royalty, what other players get to ask how long the managers stayin for, how much money there is to spend, gets to speak to the owners, asks how ambitious OUR club is, only ROONEY does! Rooney proved himself a liar, said in that pack of lies he called statement on wednesday that it was all about how he thought the finacial situation was gonna prevent investing world class players and stop us winning trophys.. how about he scores a goal once in awhile! he aint that worried about our lack of funds otherwise he wudnt take 200k a week out of it. If what he said was true, why when he got his reassurences didnt he just sign the contract that was already in front of him... cos he a greedy twat thats why! Hope this is just fergies way of gettin a better fee for him come summer.
Fans will cheer when he scores a goal but it'll never b the same.... and he really has got a nerve if he thinks he can kiss OUR badge again and US actually believe he means it!

In the end of the day …. ..if you stay at a club when you could have got more elsewhere …this is LOYALTY by modern football standards. (I call it the KEANO definition of loyalty.)

As I’ve said, no matter what most of us feel right now, once he starts playing like he did last season, 99% will get over it and if he retires from the club after 15 years we’ll call him a LEGEND and blame his agent for this little blip…. if we even remember it!

Sad but true.

Wasn't impressed woth us on Wednesday but at least we won having played a weeker side instead of losing like we did against Besiktas. That is an improvemen i suppose.

Well, if you're going to use that argument.... what a guy broke into Fergie's house and raped the shit out of Cathy, knocked Fergie around, turned him into a vegetable and then pissed all over him. Would I have no reason to hate that man because he did nothing to hurt me personally?

lets not beat about the bush - wayne rooney is a mercenary

he stayed for the money and nothing else

did we magically improve the squad overnight?
did santa come early and give the club ambition?
did the fairy godmother gave fergie his wish and give him the best mind in football?

NO, nothing changed

what did change, AN EXTRA £20k on a £160k CONTRACT thats what changed

the fuckin bobby ewing story in dallas is fuck all compared to this,wayne wakes up today and its like the last few days have all been a dream.

rooney and his prick agents have used the club the manager and the fans like some a bunch of bitch ass punks purely for money. people from madrid and barca have already spoke about the fact they were being used in this situation purely for leverage, and that'll go for city too.

he may come back and score important goals and i'll cheer and roar only for the team, but never will i chant his name again. and it'll make me sick to see him kiss that badge ever again.

maybe in time my thought swil change but i doubt that. and at least now with a 5 year contract we can still sell him in 1,2,3 years time and make a profit

i have no doubt in his ability and what he can bring to our team, he's done it for 6 years remember, but i will always doubt him as a man and loyal servant of manchester utd for evermore.

I don't know why all of you are moaning because he is going to get 180K, so what he is our best player and he is worth all that money. Imagine we had to play with out him let say until we got a new player till january,we will be in the same position with liverpool fighting for relegation with all those big bames we have coming up.We stillhave too buy three players (gk, one replacing scholes and another one replacing giggs)

Daniel Taylor on Twitter;

“Fergie has just been on MUTV saying Wayne Rooney would apologise to fans. Rooney was then interviewed. He didn’t.”

What a surprise.

---

No surprise either that the bitter cunt Daniel Taylor is whinging about this. After all, he was one of the main ones proudly claiming that Rooney to City was a done deal, just as he said about Vidic to Madrid in the summer.

That shithead is not even allowed into Carrington, if I were you I wouldn't give two hoots about any "insight" he supposedly has into United. This is the man who claimed Anderson was going to be sold the January after he signed, and the originator of the "Bebe is a flop" rumours after the 20-year-old's first training session with the squad.

You see pathetic scumbag hacks like him were revelling in United's supposed demise YET AGAIN, sharpening their knives and dusting off those old obituaries for "Fergie's crumbling empire" which they re-hash every three or four years. Well today they got the kick in the balls they sorely needed.

Daniel Taylor, Rob Smyth, James Ducker, Neil Custis, Martin Samuel and all the other cunts whose names I don't even know: your boys took one HELLUVA beating.

You cant do anything about it. Its a tactic most players use when they want a better deal. Rio did it. Possibly wayne didnt want to leave but Saf saying it in public gave wayne no option and he was pushed in a corner. When rio did it he got what he wanted and became highest paid at the club. But it also improved his performances and all that is forgiven. Who says the same wont happen with wayne?.
As far as a goal at the eastlands goes we will probably have to wait till next season. Wont play there this season unless we draw city in the fa cup

as said before, there was alot more to come of this story. i blame all parties, maybe ferguson never should have said anything on tuesday, not if it was going to be resolved like this so quickly, and maybe rooney never should have made a formal statement after and just gone through these negotiations and signed, to show his loyalty. at the same time maybe he will be sold this summer or january. fact of the matter is he is young, wants to win more than anyone in the game i honestly believe, but he is also an idiot and a hothead. maybe after all this nonsense, he will conccentrate on winning now with the team he is on, the team that brought him so many trophies already. as long as rooney is a red i will cheer for him. you never ever know whats going to happen, these kind of things can be going on with any team in any sport in this world right at this moment, but this is manchester united and its going to be in the spotlight. NBA, lebron wants to win, left for the miami heat, fans in cleveland want him dead, i guarantee though had he stayed in cleveland, even though he had stated earlier in the year he was probably going to leave, the fans would still love him. as long as he is ont here team.

rooney will need to earn his forgiveness from alot of fans, as far as im concerned thats a good thing, because he will do ti with results on the pitch.
