west-ham

Much has been made of Mike Dean’s refereeing performance during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over West Ham on Monday.

Feghouli was sent off with 15 minutes played after going in with both feet off the ground on Phil Jones. A red card was harsh and they have appealed the decision.

With United in control and 1-0 up, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored another with 10 minutes to go. Replays showed he was offside (just as replays three days earlier showed he had a goal disallowed for no reason). His goal made no difference to the result though, with West Ham failing to get on the scoresheet.

However, not much was written about the performance of referee Mike Jones when United last faced West Ham. United won 4-1, goalkeeper Adrian should have been sent off after two minutes when he planted his studs in to Ibrahimovic’s knee.

In the second half, United should have been awarded a penalty when Winston Reid kicked Wayne Rooney in the face, but nothing was given. Rooney was booked for protesting when showing referee Jones his bloodied face.

But yes, it’s all a conspiracy and United pay off the refs.
