Today’s newspapers have reported that Wayne Rooney has apparently removed “Manchester United player” from his Twitter bio and replaced it with being a Nike athelete, on the day the press are reporting the striker asked to leave the club two weeks ago. Manchester United confirmed that the player was not for sale last night.

edit: False alarm. His bio never said “Manchester United player”.
