Even of the pitch,Michael Carrick looks sad and and angry. Really hope he regain his form. he was an essential reason, why we kept winning trophys in the last three seasons.I remember his game against Roma in the C.L where he battled like a lion and got his hand broken. we really suffered till he came back,that's the real Michael Carrick,who will be back soon.

Owen looks smug as fuck. Love it.

He knows what he's doing when it comes to racing.

Warning: Never ever ever EVER go to the transfer tavern website. Websites like that ruin our beautiful game(in a way) and is the scum of the footballing world. I need all your help in this by completely boycotting it and hoping it disappears. To be fair to Carrick he might look like that cos his horse might have stopped halfway through the race for a dump or something. Definitely want him and also Hargreves back to their full potential though, they're capable of amazing work on the pitch.

Owen has that smug 'I told you I still have it' look and he has convinced all of us he's a ManUtd legend, almost. All he has to do is to score the winner at Anfield on Oct 25th to cement his place in our folklore.

great goal by owen.i never doubted his potentials.with d kind of passes he would get from midfielders;giggs and co,he wuld surely score more goals.

Yeah Owen fits right in... with the jockeys! Maybe he and Scholesy go there to feel big about themselves.

Bob Koh,

Owen a United Legend?
Ok, he scored in the derby match against the bitters but (almost) legend?
Let us not flaunt the word Legend around lest it cheapens the tag and thereby bringing down all the REAL legends that are so deeply praised by fans worldwide.

i think carrick also would've been smiling if he had played for a longer time on sunday :)

should Carrick be smiling all the time and that means he is happy. he should work even harder in training and try to cement his place back or he might be sold.

@wazza(Bezi)

Carrick is a great player but is struggling with his form since end of last season.he has to work harder as you said.i am sure he will because if he does not andos improvement and scholesys return to top form means carrick will not even be on the bench.

What dos the Bezi in your name mean?

Hope you dont mind me asking that question

@AIG : ya his form had dipped towards the end of last season but i think Fergie wants to remind the players that their places in the starting 11 is not being taken for granted. may be that was what was happening with Carrick.
well my name is Behzad and my friends call me Bezi.

Good morning.

Thanks for that info mate.just curious.good to come across someone who lives in India.

I think ando is finally showing some signs of improvement.hargo will be back soon and fletch is looking class.scholesy and giggsy are turning back the clock so only carrick is struggling.if he can raise his game we will have a fully firing midfield.fletch and scholes look to be the preferred choice now with ando as a back up.

@aig

i dont think ando was good on sunday..lots of incomplete passes..and i think he falls down really easily..of all the things he could learn from ronaldo..he learnt that..i guess if carrick gets a goal in the next match..i think he should be pretty ok..

@dakota

good morning.

I thought ando did pretty ok on sunday.not his best game but much better than some of the shockers he had last season.atleast he is showing some signs of improvement .Of course he was overshadowed big time by giggsy and fletch.i am fine even if carrick does not get enough goals but his ability on the ball and to dominate midfield is looking poor. he played against Burnley and Arsenal and our midfield did not look too great.he has to pass better and make good killer passes like scholes or giggs.Surprising that because he had a good last season apart from the last 3 months.

as for gibson i am not too sure he will get enough chances especially if hargo comes back soon but he has to make most of the chances he gets in the cup competitions so that he atleast has a chance.

@AIG and Dakota : very Good Morning. Fergie is just spot on with Giggs and Scholes with which games they play and which they don't. that keeps them fresh and raring to go. Carrick really needs to step it up with Hargo coming back soon.

Good morning.

Exactly mate. Carrick is pretty poor nowadays in delivering that one telling final ball..which giggs provided thrice on sunday. I'm pretty sure giggsy will have a talk with carrick about this..no complaints about Fletch..the commentator in the clips that scott has posted has put it rightly saying "he is our man for all seasons"..yup..waiting for hargo to comeback..one more person to take free kicks as well..Rio is not upto full flow as we saw on sunday..communications wise atleast..

whats all this about Nev getting stick from the FA for his celebration after owen scored?? true??

@AIG, Wazza

just out of curiousity..do you think carrick is looking for oppurtunities elsewhere..and that maybe a reason why he is not bothered anymore? and also why SAF is giving Ando a look in?
  • Log in to Reply
aig alex is god September 22, 2009
@dakota

well if carrick is looking for chances elsewhere then he does not want to win trophies anymore which i dont think is the case.Every player has a blip and carrick is just having that sort of time after 3 Excellent seasons.

As for Ando, well this is his big chance.we know he has potential and this is his big chance and is make or break season for him.thats why he is getting chances.if he does not do well this year it could be the end of his United career

@Dakota : if Carrick wanted to leave Fergie would have sold him off by Aug end. as i said earlier it may be to do with Carrick who was taking his place for granted and same with Ando who thought Ron has left and he should definitely start in the Community Shield and he didn't and had a quarrel with Fergie. the FA will definitely look into Gazza's celebration.

@dakota,

Hmmmmm.i am not too sure about next week.Stoke will be very very difficult.With delaps long throws and their threat fron Set pieces.With foster showing fragility and defence looking shaky i am worried about stoke.they are a very physical side and given our defence and fosters keeping on Sunday we will have to work hard in training to keep them quiet.

you guys must be joking. Ando must have to score a hat trick to impress you. He played amazing and sprayed the ball all over the park, and always made himself available for his team mates... He is becoming the midfielder I knew he would..

I am really starting to wonder how much you actually watch the game if you think Ando played poorly...

Muggaz - While I agree Ando wasn't great first half I thought he was superb in the second. Morning by the way!

I would give Carrick a run tomorrow with Gibbo. I am pretty sure Sir Alex will start Scholes with Fletch on Saturday which I am perfectly happy about.

I said yesterday that Hargo is due back on the 23 (thats the last we heard). Is this still the case does anyone know?

Off topic - Did anyone see the Paddy C show last night? Great call from soemone doing a testomony to United and he finished with saying that there should be statues of Giggs , Scholes and Nev when they retire. The next "holy trinity". Good call.

i dont know how you can say that after reading my comments.i said ando was pretty ok on Sunday.maybe a 6 on 10.in the first half our midfield struggled after they scored.Ando did pretty well in the 2nd half.I never criticised him in my comments.i have also said that he is improving from the shockers he had last season.and i think i am not wrong in saying that if he does not perform this season he does not have a future at Old Trafford.

On Sunday first half Anderson was good thou Steven Ireland played well first half and giggs was about a 5/10 but second half thong started clicking was Anderson playing better because giggs got his act together or vise versa I dunno but when Valencia came on he was fantastic Ireland was put out on the wing to mark the man . Citys midfield were all over the place and Anderson and giggs better second half just kept getting better. Anderson is going to be at united for a long time and he is gettin better and better every game this season.

@Dakota - Fair call mate, I suppose we all have our favorites... I probably have rose tinted glasses on when it comes to the lad, because I simply want to him to do well. I hope he does enough to change your opinion of him, Like Fletcher has done for me! before last season I used to moan in agonay when I saw him on the team sheet, now he is the first I look for!

@AIG - I know what you mean mate, as above, my rose tinted glasses ruin my perspective a bit!

@King Eric - I really want to see the kids get a run tonight, Gibbo would be a fair shout, I really want to see how Macheda is coming along, and you all know my thoughts on the twins! we shall see!

Just back from Manchester and I'm still buzzing after the game. I don't think I've ever seen a reaction like that to a goal at Old Trafford since Bruce's winner against Wednesday all those years ago. Absolutely incredible atmosphere but where were all those citeh fans in Manchester after the game? Not one to be seen. Probably all stuck on coaches back to Stockport :-)

I have no doubts about Anderson after Sunday. He played excellently with Fletcher, with passing triangles and creating space vs 3 midfielders, then to supply the forwards with the ball to feet.
The movement off the ball was great to watch from everyone infact, where was this in the CL final!

Remember Anderson is only 21, I think people are expecting a lot from him at such a young age. Since he's joined he's not really had a long run in the team, but I think he's gradually starting to show what he's made of. Give it two or three seasons and I think he'll be the rock in our midfield.
