United 2 – 2 The Rivals
Jaap Stam, Ronny Johnsen, Andy Cole, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Clayton Blackmore, Quinton Fortune and Dwight Yorke played for United in a Charity game for United Relief today.
Ralf Little put the Rivals 1-0 up after scoring past Blackmore, who bizarrely was playing in goal. Former Villa and Boro defender, Ugo Ehiogu, made it 2-0.
However, Ehiogu scored an own goal before Quinton Fortune scored an injury time equaliser to make it 2-2.
A penalty shoot-out ensued, after Sir Bobby Charlton had set the tone with a half-time penalty kick, but the Rivals won 5-4 in the end, with Ricky Whittle missing the crucial penalty for United.
Other players present included Ian Rush, Peter Beardsley, Dave Beasant, John Beresford, Austin Healy, Max Beasley, Ronan Keating, Jason Manford and Tim Lovejoy.
