Not long ago, it looked certain that Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United was coming to an end. As recently as last summer, the Frenchman talked about looking for a new challenge and it appeared as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would struggle to change his mind.
Our top scorer from last season has started just 13 games because of injury this campaign but, when he returned to the team following the restart of lockdown, Pogba has linked up well with new signing Bruno Fernandes and in his interviews appears happy at the club.
Pogba’s current contract runs until 2021, with the option of a further year, but reports suggest the midfielder is ready to sign a new deal.
Solskjaer has sung Pogba’s praises and has claimed that he has a role as a future leader at this club.
Since coming back from injury has been a delight. He has worked really hard, he is happy and he is playing well. We are going to see the best of Paul in the next couple of seasons, I’m sure. And I’m looking forward to seeing him grow with this team.
He will have to be one of the leaders, one of the main figures, because he is just coming to his peak time as a footballer at 27. I am really looking forward to working with him.
