Paul Pogba has been named the Europa League player of the year for the 2016-17 season.

As well as scoring in the final, Pogba played in all 15 games and scored a further two goals to help get Manchester United to Stockholm.

This is the first time the award has been given out and Pogba spoke of his gratitude.

“To be the first one to win the best player, hopefully this season will be as good as last season,” he said. “Thank you so much.”
