Jonny Evans has been so disappointing since the summer (at least). Here I was thinking he could kick on and become a proper competitor for a centre back spot. Here's hoping Smalling learns from Evans's lesson: you've not made it until you've made it. Also hoping Evans can somehow turn it around and become the class act he is surely capable of being.

I vote for Carrick, he's older and experient other than 2 others, he should have less bad performances.

There's no other option but I'm voting for Bebe. Bebe was scapegoated at the start of the season as all that was wrong with 2010 United. We weren't good enough to win the league because we were buying players like Bebe. We didn't get Van Der Vaart/Ozil/Pele/Maradona because of Bebe. The stone cole proof we're in decline Bebe. Look at Chelsea score a hundred thousand goals against the worst of the league and United's only answer, Bebe. Did I mention he used to be homeless??

Thas all I heard for months. Now since then Bebe has played some matches, some good, some really bad but he's a young developing player just like dozens we've signed in the past. But he more than anyone was singled out and I think thats wrong.

As an aside, I voted for Carrick. The other two have played really badly at times, Carrick has always been underrated and een when he played average fans got on his back more than say Rooney, Giggs, Scholes etc. when they had bad games

I voted for carrick because he has been consistently underrated since he joined the club. In saying that he was truely awful last season. it is good to see him coming back to form. Evans could have got the nod too because he actually played quite well last season. I dont know whats happened to him. Gibson has been consistently poor since day one. im not sure what fergie sees in him. slow, one dimensional. we tend to get bad results whenever he plays.

Right, Bebe is ScapeKid 2010. Very unfairly shredded by the ABU press.

If you feel that Carrick has deserved his criticism, the Scapegoat Award is not for him.

How can it be Carrick? He has had a good season so far, all in all, and a mayor reason we are almost unbreakable at the moment.
The other two have maybe had 1 good game.

I don't understand some of the comments here. Or maybe I don't understand the purpose of the award. This is for the 'scapegoat' of the year, not the worst player of the year, nor the most disappointing. A scapegoat is someone who's blamed for mistakes that others made -- or, loosely, someone who is unfairly blamed for some problem. I think O'Shea or Bebe would be excellent candidates for this award. Both are frequently, and in my opinion, unfairly criticized by fans as examples of what's "wrong" with United; in particular, O'Shea is often blamed for poor games that we have had, and for not being a better player; yet he's never held himself up to be anything more than what he is -- a versatile professional who's able and (most importantly) willing to do his bit as a stand-in squad player. Holding him responsible for some of our poor performances is simply pathetic, IMO.

Of the three who are on the list, I would go for Evans, who has copped more than his fair share of stick for some of our defensive lapses.
