Marcus Rashford has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for his two goals and two assists in two appearances in September.

First he set up Jadon Sancho in the 1-0 win over Leicester, before scoring two and assisting a third goal in the 3-1 win over Arsenal.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Rashford has singled out the assist for Antony against Arsenal as his best bit.

My favourite moment from September was probably an assist, actually! Antony scoring his first goal on his debut. I think that was a massive moment. It gave us strength and courage. Seeing him come into the team and score a goal straightaway is massively important.

I think it also helps with him settling into a new club, with new surroundings. Scoring goals is the best way to help that so I was very happy he scored that goal and we went on to win the game too.

Rashford has said that while he enjoys scoring goals, he likes being able to create chances for his fellow attackers.

I think just being able to affect the game in terms of scoring or assisting is important, as is doing all the other stuff in the game. You’re in the positions where you can influence a game in that aspect, more often than other players. It’s important for us to stay close together and try to get bodies in the box, get shots off at goal and work the keeper.
