Rio Ferdinand has looked to the reasons why he thinks United will win a few trophies this season, as well as reflecting on his first impressions of the manager, which are shared by Michael Owen.
“When I look at the players around me in the dressing room I can’t help but feel confident and believe that we will win,” said Rio. “I’m sure will we be up there come the end of the season and hopefully win two or three trophies.”
Obviously it’s not just the players that give United that winning feeling, but the manager too.
“I was in awe the first time I met Sir Alex and whenever you get new players come in at the club it’s the same thing,” he added. “When Michael Owen signed in the summer he told me how he just sat there listening to the gaffer in amazement and that’s the effect the manager has. That’s why he’s so successful.”
