Cristiano RonaldoChelsea travel to Goodison Park this evening for a ridiculously scheduled league game which was shifted so it could be shown on the telly, knowing that they must win. United fans can sit back and relax, cheering on Everton for two reason. Firstly, to take points off Chelsea to leave us with the opportunity of winning the league at Stamford Bridge, but also, to come closer to displacing the dippers from the top four.

Cristiano Ronaldo has today spoken out about United’s task in hand, which is to pick up all three points from Ewood Park on Saturday evening, particularly after Chelsea lost more ground on us on Monday, following an injury time equaliser from Wigan.

“When Chelsea dropped points after we won it was fantastic for us,” said Ronaldo. “We are in a good position. Blackburn will be a tough game, but if we win we have a good chance to win the title.”

Ronaldo also reflected on our recent win over Arsenal, which ended any hope they had of winning the title, and condemning them to third year without any silverware. “We won the game because we changed the players,” he said. “Anderson and Carlos came on and changed the game. It’s very important for the team to have those sorts of players to come and change things.”

United appear to be cruising at the moment and it certainly is our title to throw away at this point. Five points clear with four games to go is a great position to be in, regardless of the trip to Stamford Bridge that awaits us. However, our position would be significantly improved with a result from Everton today, meaning United could win the league earlier, which would leave our players in better condition for Moscow 😉

Do you fancy Everton taking points off Chelsea tonight?
