Wayne Rooney reckons his form has been good since his return from injury although obviously wants to be scoring more goals.

“I feel good,” said Rooney. “My form has been good in recent games. As a striker, you always want to be scoring goals and I just want to score as many as possible until the end of the season.”

He has also reflected on his contract situation, after earlier claiming he wanted to leave the club because it didn’t match his ambition. This is a fairly amusing statement, given that Manchester United are currently top of the league with very little help from Rooney himself.

“It’s a relief to have the contract situation sorted and feel settled,” he continued. “I know I made the right decision to stay. It’s been a tough time, but I’m looking forward to helping the team win trophies.”
