@Tomdabomb:Just come in when the regular match goers are here.

Evans was steady, good. Fletch ok.Buttner showed some skill at the end there to beat a couple of players and the third player fouled him, to stop him

Powell looks good.

Anders brilliant.

This is random but does anyone else find it really really difficult to watch a game with paddy crerand commentating? Not taking anything away from him as a player and a person but i find him so difficult to listen to. Seems to always just go on about negative play by our players and positive play by the opposition

Fletcher is finished. You can't play at the level United requires with his condition. Sad but true.

I thought Butner played really well for his first outing. From what I saw from the game, it just confirms previous reports on the player. This is how I see him.

- Good levels of energy.
- Brave and loves a tackle.
- always looking to join the attack and seemed to really enjoy the foward play.
- a touch of skill on the ball.
- can take a tackle and not role around like a girl

negs:

- loves a tackle, will dive in and sometimes get beat.
- possible penalty provider.

all in all, evra 6 years ago but with a stuart pearce slide tackle... I am happy with that!!!

Hear, hear Wayne Rooney! - "Hear me. The 'not here' say is hearsay! I'm here to stay!"

Of course you are Wayne, as long as you are worth having. Long may you last.

I think this injury will a world of good to Rooney as long we have a string of good results without him. If he watches the team do well with Kagawa and RVP leading the front line (same things he complained about - lack of invenstement etc) he will come back fired up to show that he's still needed. This will be great for him and the team. If we do poorly while he's off, not much may change when he's back.

Fergie is just a genius, you gotta love him.
Rooney complains about the clubs lack of ambition, then the boss buys players directly for his position

You gotta love the scot

@Provert, sorry I think we'll have to wait for 20 at least another year.
We are still lacking the man utd x-factor I think. I was really surprised that we finished even with City on points as I thought we'd be at least 9 behind. This year I think it will be a year to really bring into focus what we really lack - midfield, tacticts, or general lack of work rate spirit (if our team absorbed half of the work rate of Bilbao last year, we would have been 9 points ABOVE city)

Must say the most exciting thing for me to happen was Kagawa. I would rather see another player with a vision to accomodate the killer pass and move away from the wing play asap then RVP, although his purchase may be really good for Rooney as I really think he performs best with competition.

Off topic trivia:

Kanchelskis, now a coach at Russian Premier League side FC Volga says:
“I’d like it if a decent, adequate president came in to the football federation to sort of chase out the petty gang who are there,”

Vladimir Tumaev, one of the seven candidates for the presidency suggested the elections were being rigged. Tumaev is perhaps best known for his habit of fielding himself as a player during his time running Soyuz-Gazprom, where he played Russian league games up to the age of 58.

Proverb - it happened in 07/08, guys like ronaldo tevez berbatov all were playing in rooney's position, and rooney actually enjoyed the competition, so seeing guys like kagwa RVP welbeck all who can fill in on rooney's position, gives rooney the hunger to really up his game. The boss wont sell rooney, as he is such an asset that he is built to finish his career at united. No matter how good RVP is, still I would not want the team built towards him, and relying a bit to much onRVP, when RVP is 29.

@dan young. I'm not forgetting kagawa, that's why I specifically mentioned him about the exciting thing to come into the fold this season. I'm hoping that as the season goes along we recognize his strengths and start unitizing him even more. His movement is excellent and he positions himself in excellent positions. I think him and Cleverly will get along just fine as I anticipate him and Chicharito will.

I think the bulk of our problem is the reliance on scripted wing play (which has been horrible anyway as the cross attempts have been horrific) and hoping for a slow tempo from our opposition., as we've been way TOO Sluggish as well. If we continue to go to wing play (this is what SAF would like to move away from) then our crossing has to improve drastically and immediately as it's been an absolute horror show.
Other than that, forget about Scholes who's great at this point for getting the balls distributed horizontally and get overrun by energetic opponents (here come negative comments)
Notice how we have Kagawa or Cleverly come around behind midfielders waiting for through ball and get turned down for another back pass or side pass. This has to stop. These guys have enough skill to receive the ball and move it forward even when they're marked.

We are united and need to instill the fear factor in teams again.

Just watching El Classico - The only reason RM has any chance against Barca is because they work their asses off and press for every ball as a team. If you let Barca play and give them any room you're done. We let teams develop their play too far into our own half.

Just seen all this and im glad to here it, and the little message on his t-shirt was spot on. Sometimes we all need a kick up the arse to make use of the blessings we all have. Would be nice if we just got on with it instead of fucking about and winging it but thats life I guess. Nobody is perfect, especially if you're not too far off it haha.

So come on Wazza, time doesn't wait for any cunt. Return to Old Trafford a fucking BEAST (cheers in advance)

I knew that all these shits about Roo going was to unsettle ..Don't know why the British press hated united?.Tired of listening to bias analysis before any united match..This is an English iconic institution that should be hailed as a pride instead of pulling it down.Any news about Nani?Hope he is not also going. We need our best players for a longer time to create another 99.
