Rooney Looking Forward To Ending Liverpool Title Bid

Following our win against the Italian champions, Inter Milan, United are set to be full of confidence when taking on Liverpool at the weekend. Just like we ended Arsenal’s title bid last season, Rooney is hoping we can do the same to the dippers.

A win against them this weekend would put us ten points clear with a game in hand, which would put their dwindling hopes to bed. 19 years.

“I think we’re in pole position anyway, but we can certainly end Liverpool’s chances of winning the league if we win, so we’re looking forward to it,” said Rooney. “We always try and win every tournament we go into, that’s our aim at the start of the season. We’re in all the competitions, but we know there is a long way to go in the season, and we know that we just have to keep focused and try and do the best we can.”
