Following a summer of silence after being keen to leave Manchester United for Chelsea, Wayne Rooney has been in overdrive, both on the pitch and off it, to make amends.
Following great goal-scoring performances against both Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen, Rooney has voiced his happiness over the new intense training regime at Carrington.
He also claimed that David Moyes deserved to be given the United job. This is particularly interesting when you consider that Jose Mourinho, the manager of the club Rooney had been keen to join, was snubbed by United.
“He a great manager and thoroughly deserves this job, because of what he did at Everton,” he said. “It’s good to work under him and hopefully we’ll be successful together. I feel great.”
