With Sir Alex Ferguson complimenting Wayne Rooney following his performance against Bayer Leverkusen, the player has taken to singing the praises of new manager David Moyes’ training methods.

“The training is a bit different under the new manager,” Rooney said. “I remember it from Everton, it’s more intense. But that’s helping me. I feel good and am glad to be out playing.”

Marouane Fellaini, who joined the club from Everton this summer, claimed that training a stepped up a gear from what he experienced at Everton though.

“I have a problem with the intensity of the training because I am playing with big players. It is quicker than at Everton. But I am happy. I like the game and I like to play.”
