Rooney started the season as a 23-year-old, which is why he has been included in both awards.
My choice would be on Rooney for the proper player of the year and James Milner for the young one, although Fabregas will surely claim that as a consolation prize for yet another trophyless season with the Goons.
I’m puzzled though. Where are John Terry and Steven Gerrard? I thought they were included regardless in these things?
