Bastian Schweinsteiger will miss Manchester United’s next three matches after accepting a FA charge of violent conduct. He was charged after elbowing West Ham’s Winston Reid in our 0-0 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday. The incident was not seen by the match officials but was caught on video.

Schweinsteiger will now be unavailable for our games against Bournemouth, Norwich and Stoke, but his first game back is again Chelsea.

After the game, Reid was critical of our midfielder, saying: “He knows what he’s done – he’s elbowed me in the face.”
