In the first half of Manchester United’s Champions League game against PSV yesterday, Luke Shaw suffered a double leg break.
Having been one of United’s best performing players so far this season, the news of his injury is fairly devastating.
Shaw has taken to Twitter and seems positive about his return to football, which will hopefully come before this season ends.
Thank you everyone for your messages, words can’t describe how gutted I am, my road to recovery starts now, I will come back stronger.
Amazingly, Hector Moreno didn’t even concede a foul for the awful challenge, which took place in the penalty area. Graham Poll confirmed that Moreno should have been showed a red card.
Moreno showed no regard for his opponent’s safety when he flew into the tackle. Moreno’s leading leg might have touched the ball but the way he challenged, at pace and off the ground, it was clear he had no control over his actions.
Moreno, who shouldn’t have been on the pitch, later scored the equalising goal.
